Cal Poly Mustangs Scouting Report

Thanks as always for your effort here Brint. I hate when the Griz play against a triple option offense. I still have an occasional nightmare about the Wofford playoff game! That being said, watching the triple option is always entertaining. If they play fast like Slostang mentioned, then watch out. I'm looking forward to this game, and expect it to be a good one. I'd love to see the Griz score early and often in this one and force Cal Poly to play catch up.

Does CPSLO still run their 3-4 defense?
They switched to the 4-3 under Walsh.
Thanks, I recalled noticing that watching the PSU game, but couldn't recall for sure.

Three words: Yale? At home?
Yep, we suck. We have no chance and should of saved the money on the charter and stayed home.

In all seriousness, worst game I have seen the Mustangs play in 10 years. 5 fumbles (2 lost), 2 INTs, blocked punt, short punt hitting a Poly player and causing a turnover (converted into 7 Yale points) and 3 personal fouls two of which extended drives of Yale drives in which they scored 10 points. Cal Poly played like all they had to do was show up to get the win. When they struggled in the second half they got frustrated and committed personal fouls (which I was more upset about than the score) which is out of character of this team. All in all a bad day. It did seem to refocus the team. They will need that focus if they hope to make it a game this weekend.

Seems to me I recall another BSC team, which we here like to root for, that had an absolute garbage game. It happens. :puke:

Yep. Yale played a smart, well disciplined game. Cal Poly not so much.

b/w,,outstanding as usual,,,if I read slostang correctly, they have a 240lb, 4.4 running back? if that were the case I would think they would ride him like a rented mule....in the bsc, he would be unusual to say the least....

225 lb. Better blocker and receiver than runner.

Sounds similar to the egg the griz laid in Flagstaff....stuff happens.

I expect a great game by a good Cal Poly team, Griz in a squeaker 31-28.
