You will forever be remembered as the coach who changed the guard.......or the changing of the guard coach........or the man who coached the guard change...... either way, you were formidable.

Stupid and arrogant thread.

A man, and a good man, loses his job along with his assistant coaches and we have a group of gloaters. No wonder people look on us as jerks. (Thanks to about a half dozen posters) These people have families and bills like the the rest of us. Sure they knew the consequences of failure but it doesn't make it any easier on them. I sincerely wish them the best of luck.

I also hope that none of you ever lose your jobs and have the stress of finding a new one, supporting your families in the meantime with no income coming in, having to sell your house, explaining to your children why you lost your job and must move to a new location, and maintaining your self confidence and the image that you hold of yourself while trying to move on.

I know most Griz fans have a lot more humility and class than these few posters and are wishing these newly unemployed people good luck in the future.

You're right Dad. (Coaches don't know what they're getting into when they sign a contract.)

We should have more class, like ron.
Good luck ron.

Ash lost his job for one reason-loyalty to DC Marshall, a substandard performer for years. Just As O'Day refused to fire Robin and lost his job, Ash refused to fire a long-time friend. Kane Ione couldn't fix what Marshall had broken. My guess is Ash wanted another year to see if Ione could overcome Marshall's weaknesses with the defense, but the AD disagreed, and saw the only way to get rid of Marshall was to get rid of Ash.

I dunno. Maybe he should have picked a different profession? Or have been better at it? Even then it seems coaches have a shelf-life. Mediocrity will only take you so far. At least he wasn't fired for sticking up for one of his players...
