Friday in Missoula is predicted as a high of 70 degrees and sunny.
Saturday is a high of 68 and mostly sunny.
Be mid-week there's the possibility for snow to show up in the mountains and we're projected to hit freezing temps overnight. So get out and enjoy yourself this weekend.
If you're really an FCS sicko - here's some games to keep an eye on (sorted by MST kick time):
11:00am RV Lafayette (5-1) @ #15 Holy Cross. Lafayette is 4 teams out of the top 25 right now, they have one of the best defenses in their conference, allowing just over 300 yards/game and only 80 ypg rushing. Meanwhile Holy Cross has a lethal offense, best in their conference by far with 250 passing / 230 rushing per game.
12:00pm RV Illinois State (4-2) @ #25 Youngstown State (3-3). ISU has a solid offense and an even better defense in their conference and statistically YSU is below them in both offense and defensive categories. YSU has close losses by 3 to UNI and by 3 to South Dakota, plus they also absolutely crushed now #12 Southern Illinois. Meanwhile ISU lost to now 4-3 Eastern Illinois and got thumped pretty good by SDSU, ISU has really just played the bottom portion of the MVFC, and SDSU.
12:30 #4 Furman (5-1) @ #8 Western Carolina (5-1). Western Carolina is a juggernaut on offense, they have both the #1 rushing and #1 passing offense in the conference, they total almost 532 yards/game on average. Meanwhile Furman's offense is ranked 4th in the conference. Defensively both teams allow an average of 373 yards, kind of wild, but Furman does have statistically the worst passing defense in the conference.
1pm: #1 South Dakota State (6-0) @ #12 Southern Illinois (5-1). Both teams have very strong defenses and are almost equal in total offense. SDSU has the 3rd best rushing offense in conference where SIU has the 2nd best rush defense. SIU's numbers suggest they're a pass heavy team and their pass defense is a little suspect, while SDSU has a good passing game and a solid pass defense.
3pm: #11 North Dakota (4-2) @ RV Northern Iowa (3-3). UNI probably can lose 3 or 4 more games and still make the playoffs (sarcasm), but in all honesty they may be fighting for their playoff lives here. UNI has the 2nd best pass offense, statistically, in the MVFC while UND's defense is ranked in the lower 1/3 of the conference. Coming off a big win at home against NDSU, could UND have a bit of a hangover?
8:30pm: #2 Montana State (5-1) @ #3 Sacramento State (5-1). MSU has the #1 scoring offense in the FCS, let alone the Big Sky as well as the #1 rush offense in the FCS as well with 325 yards/game. Meanwhile Sac's defense is ok, but statistically not great, allowing 144/game. The Bobcats defense is also tops in the conference, allowing less than 300 yards/game while Sac's offense is tied for 4th with ISU at 408 yard/game. The cats lone loss is to #1 SDSU by 4 points and a few inches of a WR's foot. Since then MSU hasn't played a team with a winning record, but cruised to most all wins. Sac's one loss is to Idaho, and they've beat Stanford who just last week beat Colorado, however their last two games were a 1 point win against NAU and an 8 point win against winless UNC.
