Butler- The key to becoming a great BB team

For those of you watching the NCAA tournament, I am sure that you must be impressed with Butler. This young coach has taught these kids to play a relentless brand of defense and hustle, which allows them to compete with any BB program in the nation. I just love the way they play the game. Most of the teams they have defeated had better talent. But these kids seem to get every loose ball, cause lots of turnovers, with their helping man-to-man defense, and play very disciplined offensive basketball on the other end. They sell-out on defense, and rest a bit to catch their breath when on offense.

I think Montana has the type of players returning next season to play the kind of defense that Butler plays (except Selvig, who has slow feet and does not seem to have the intensity to play great defense). If I were Wayne, I would start the 5 players who were willing to sell-out defensively. The offense will come from transition, if the defense is solid.

We saw how dominating a great defensive team could be versus the Big Sky when Duquense came to Montana. Can you imagine how tough the Griz would be if they played defense like Butler? Defense ultimately dictates most games. Even though the Griz defense led the Big Sky this season, I think they should take it to the next level, like Butler. They have the players to do it next season.

I'm not saying the Griz couldn't be more aggressive on D, but they were pretty damn good on D this year as it was. Despite the loss of BQ this year, I think they will be better next year, too.

Losing qvale, and the d will be better?

Hard to believe, I know, but yes, I do think they can get better.

Butler fukked my brackets but, yeah, they are pretty good.

Shouldn't even be where they are--buzzer beater vs ODU and the miracle vs PITT, well, just amazing. Loved PITT losing, by the way. :D

With UCONN & Kentucky 2 of my least favorite teams left, GO BUTLER & VCU!!! :thumb:
