No way! He was wearing a Cubs batting glove under his mitt when he missed that grounder?? I am now convinced that the Cubs will never win another World Series. Never gonna happen.

And the sad part is he will be remembered for that play. His career numbers were damn good too. Bucks had 2,715 hits, 1208 RBI's, career .290 hitter, and a .991 career fielding %, 146 errors in 16,505 chances over 21 years. I thnk the most he ever made was $400,000 in a season. How times have changed.

I read this article earlier today. Wow. Talk about having all of the cards stacked against you. But my question is.. why the Cubs glove? That's a little Benedict Arnold, you know? Really amusing though.. he may have brought it on himself.

buckner was a gold glove winner!

on a side note i play for a montana club team in the fall and we go to showcase tournaments. anyway we played a team from boise in pasco and in the same tournament in arizona and low and behold his kid plays second base! not only that but he is pretty good. watch the draft and don't be surprised to see a buckner in there.

I heard that Charlie Sheen paid $90,000 for the ball that Buckner missed.

"Sheen also owns Babe Ruth's 1927 World Series ring (acquired for the bargain-basement price of $225,000) and one of the two contracts that delivered Ruth from the Red Sox to the Yankees.

In the hopes of catching a home-run ball, Sheen once rented out the entire left-field bleachers for an Angels game. Unfortunately, none were hit to left field that night."

somebody did that in seattle too back when they had the kingdome! my grandma used to work there and she said they got it for a week and no homerun balls were hit even on that side of the park during that whole week! what a waste!

I've got a "Baden Collector Series" football signed by all the players, and coaches from the 2004 Griz season...its even got Don Read's signature.

I'd be willing to part with it if someone starts talking about some of the above mentioned figures.

2 summers ago I was visiting some friends in Idaho and saw Buckner at his sons high school baseball game. His son will never be close to as good a player as Bill was.

I have a signed ball from both NC Teams and they are NOT FOR SALE. Grizo, now that we have establshed what you are, all we have to do is settle on the price. :thumb:

Well, just about everything I post clearly indicates what I am, but the price always seems to be the rate limiting step. :thumb:
