BSC tourney to a neutral site or Bobcats concede

they can't win the BSC in 2012? Bozeman submits $0 bid for state B and AA basketball tournaments. Very strange:

Mark Beckman, executive director of the MHSA, said his office was led to believe a conflict with the Big Sky men's tournament probably would not be a problem. Beckman said the MHSA was told a meeting of Big Sky officials is coming this spring at which time a decision could be reached to have a neutral-site tourney for the men.

In fact, there is a conference of league presidents slated for May 17-18, but Big Sky assistant commission Ron Loghry said Tuesday a change is not imminent and most certainly could not happen by March, 2012. The Big Sky women's tournament, which has been a six-team affair with the league regular-season champion serving as host, has traditionally been the second weekend in March.

"We would still utilize those dates as a championship weekend, most definitely for the women," Loghry said.

the men play during the week, so probably not a conflict there. does the women's tourney make any money? my guess is they put pencil to paper and figured out the b or aa tourney is more profitable than the women's tourney. the aa tourney is combo girls-boys deal, which is probably 3-4 times more lucrative.
