This could be a dream scenario. Bryan Harsin…

His son is a 3 star QB Idaho St commit who visited just about every BSC school except Montana.

Guy got his bag at Auburn from his payout ($16 mil) not to mention the $$ he made at Boise St. He isn’t hurting for money and likely won’t be swayed by the shiny object of a G5 job if he is successful.

He has proven success in recruiting our area and bringing talent to the mountain/PNW.

Offensive minded coach who consistently had teams that put up points, and is very connected in the football world so his staff would be good hires AND has a great network for getting big P5/G5 drop-down portal guys.

Currently taking a break from football and living in Boise, but his son being a freshman and switching to UM could bring him back in.

He also got absolutely fudged at Auburn so he will have a chip on his shoulder to prove he is a good coach and right all of the wrongs he has been labeled with.

At a minimum, he should be in consideration for an OC job.

If I’m Kent - he is at the top of my list in bold letters.

Go Griz!

Harsin is Boise States Bobby Hauck. Took over riding Chris Petersens success and parlayed it into a bigger job where he was an utter failure. Not to mention his players hated him. No thanks. If that is the solution we might as well just keep Hauck and save the money.

Never heard of this guy, let me read up on him.

In a 2023 column for Alabama Media Group, Joseph Goodman wrote that at least one prominent Alabama high school coach was frustrated that Harsin never reached out to him to ask about his son, a top prospect, even though his son made no secret he wanted to play for Auburn. Goodman added that Harsin's squads were dangerously thin on the offensive line, and that Nix was all but forced to leave due to being "seriously injured" by inadequate protection.

Hmmmmmm.....

Interesting idea. I don't follow Boise State close enough to know all the ins and outs of his time there, but he did win 3 Mountain West championships there which is impressive. And the one year he was at Arkansas State before he got the job at BSU, he won the Sun Belt title. I will agree that he never really got a fair shake at Auburn as the boosters were trying to run him out from the minute he got the job. It's not like he was handed the keys to a Cadillac when he got to Auburn, there was some serious re-building that needed to be done and he went .500 in his first season which wasn't the worst result in the world all things considered.

I guess I'd be interested to hear what Boise State fans thought of him (if there are any here). I guess I don't really know enough about him to form an opinion one way or another

I can't think of a worse idea.
