Brutal 2019 schedule

Not sure if this has been discussed yet since we’re still atleast one game remaining this year( hopefully more).

So I just noticed we have four non con games next year with Oregon being the only unwinnable game(the others are @South Dakota and home for North Alabama and Monmouth). We also only have seven con games. First, does anyone know why the con games were reduced from 8 to 7 in our already unbalanced schedule?

More importantly though, look who we play. @ UC-Davis and MSU and home games against EWU, WSU, and ISU. Plus on the road against PSU and Sac. After this years cupcake con sched, Bobby and the boys will be put to the test next year.

We have 8 conf. games next year as always. It is a 12 game year.

My bad, subconsciously I wasn’t considering Idaho as a real game I guess.

It will be an interesting year! UC Davis will still have Jake. M but they graduate their stud WR. They have about an average senior class so they will still need to mesh in some new starters. They will be good you have to imagine as long as Maier is there. MSU will be probably the same MSU. EWU will be the same great EWU team and WSU will be good however they graduate some more of that senior talent. ISU will be dangerous like this year. A good OOC schedule in my opinion. 3 winnable games and a money game. This team will be a year older and mature. we don't lose very much overall depth. Got to imagine we try and get some OL help this off season. It will all come down to the OL yet again I would imagine.

It’ll be good to see Doss go but they got atleast three top notch recruits to replace him. I know we might not see much of them next year but Hawkins is working on building a dominant team there. Hopefully he’s working on getting a new job too.

I dont put a ton of stock in predicting future “strength of schedule.” Particularly at the FCS level, there are always some top-tier teams who grossly underperform. Injuries and other variables play a much bigger role at our level of football, I would assume because fewer schollies=less depth. NDSU is always good, but most other programs fluctuate a bit year to year, despite who graduates and who is coaching. Look at UND last season, or Eastern in 2015.

Sam Houston was a Top 5 Preseason vote getter, and is barly noticable now.

Nope, I nailed it as usual! I think I had griz at 6-5 and CATS @ 7-4 so I'm pretty spot on. :thumb:

Clearly. How'd those Idaho predictions go for you?

6-6 should be good enough for a contract extension though, right? Maybe talk about all those quality losses, and maybe limp into the playoffs in year three. Watch out FCS!

Hey maybe the Smuck game in Eugene won’t be as bad as one might think. Ducks kind of on a down year this year. Herbert could leave for the NFL so that might help.
I would like just for the Griz to be competitive in it. And not some 42 to 7 blowout.
