Brock Osweiler Thread on GUNation

According to GUNation, he has accepted an offer to play at Gonzaga. Sounds a bit premature to me since he is only a frosh.

Can a Flathead Valley person confirm this? Where is El Gato when you need him?

The chance he will end up at Gonzaga Prep is more likely at this point. His dad was going around the state tournament saying that he might take Brock to Spokane because he needs better competition.

I read the thred Grizfan10 is right they cannot talk to him at this point unless he comes to their campus. If he committed it would have to be him initiating it. I laughed when I read the thred the greatest basketball player ever to come out of Montana. I'm sure coach K might take issue with that.

I saw him play alot this last winter against varsity players and he was good and even dominated some games but he struggled against the higher caliber players Edwards, Garland, and Howard.

Kalispel people used the excuse that he was only 15 and those guys are two years older.

My question is: is he playing U-15 or U-16 AAU or is he truly playing against the best players at these AAU tourneys and playing U-17?

Very good player but not even the best in the state right now let alone the best ever.

Maybe Mslacat can answer this one also I saw where both Selvig and Howard are playing out of state this spring with AAU teams how are they doing?

Rumor in Bozeman is that Huse has already offered Howard is that true and did he accept?

Howard has had a standing offer on the table from MSU for almost a year now. Durham offered him some time back. When MSU was going through the selection process to replace Durham it was said the Howard was concerned that who ever replaced Durham might pull the offer. It is also rumored that Howards choices for Durham's replace as head coach was #1 Huse, and #2 Sprinkle. All of that said the Howard family has said no choices/commitments will be made until after the summer evaluation period at the earliest.

AAU ball. Howard: They don't keep very good individual stats but I did hear Howard lead his Seattle based AAU team to a win in Las Vegas against a very good Texas team with 25 points. Howard is playing exclusivly at the small forward /guard spot.

Selvig: Selvig is playing for the Portland Panthers out of Oregon. This is the same team that Bobcat recruits Davis and Derochowski have played for so I know the team quite well. The coach of the team called Selvig the the most talented and versitile player he has ever coached. And he has coached A LOT of big name Oregon players over his years. A lot of hi-majors to elite majors have already been in contact with him. I have not heard how the team is or has been doing though.

Anyone know if Edwards is on an AAU team yet?

a player can verbally commit to a school whenever he wants. no ink, and non-binding, but still..... i know that david pendergraft verballed to GU as a soph.

Not sure about Edwards playing AAU but I can find out.

Interesting thing about Edwards, while he did do a good job on Osweiler in the state consolation, down the stretch he was no better that 4th best on the absolutely loaded Butte High team. Sophmores Conway, Hawbaker and Boltz, along with junior Tyler Gilder all played better than Edwards IMO.

I would agree they have a very good Sophomore class. On another note how is Gilder doing? We were in Butte several weeks ago for track and I saw he was walking around the track area but not competing. That was a scary accident in the tourney. Just curious will he be able to play next year? Football? Basketball? Baseball?

I was told that Tyler, cannot play baseball this spring. He is a member of the Butte Miners AA American Legion squad. And also will not be able to play football this fall. Hopefully he will be able to play basketball. I watched several Butte High basketball games last year and this young man was a force inside. Butte missed him in the tournament after getting hurt. Butte lost a couple of their guards to graduation in Pollock and Bergman but they should have a real good team coming back next year.

How did he get hurt?
First game of the State tourney he got his legs taken out from under him while he was in the air. He came down on his head and fractured his skull. Very scary stuff
