BroBible article on Hauck

Saban said the same thing when he retired from Alabama. Chris Klieman essentially the same when he retired from Kansas State after this season. NIL in it's current form is not sustainable at all and it will continue to get worse. It's clearly burning out good coaches and bringing too much stress. This article is not far off base at all.

I disagree with Hauck is boycotting. To me to appears he is retiring after a long and illustrious career. From what I heard he decided while in Hawaii the last few weeks he would rather do that. I also disagree with the sentiment that we lost many top players. Ah Yat and Gillman are 2 of the most impactful players and both are returning. Lots of top tier players are coming in. Some from the SEC which BroBible actually knows about.

I’ve said it before, that NCAA football at D2 and above has been corrupted by NIL and the portal. From only as a fan viewpoint, I can only imagine what coaches have to deal with now. I don’t blame Coach Hauck, and with a degree of national attention to his retirement reasons, perhaps other coaches may be thinking the same. For the enjoyment of football, the NAIA and Friday night high school ball are still unsullied for the most part, but with some exceptions of high school blue chips being offered already. I enjoy both…take in a NAIA game in your area and watch pretty good talented all-state players with full stands, good tailgates and actual “Student-athletes”. I’ve still got a few years of Griz football left, but I’m not so happy where semi-pro college football is going. Maybe going actually to pro status, just hire players, no enrollment? Best wishes for coach Kennedy.

D2 football is still awesome. The Colorado School of Mines for example is the closest D2 to me and they are very minimally effected by the portal. CO Mines is the top university in Colorado and one of the top public universities in the country. Guys want to stay for that degree.
