obviously its still early...but the cream is starting to rise to the top as far as the great players in the league. BQ in my opinion has been the best player by far. If he stays healthy and the Griz continue to win, and he maintains his level of play.... he has to be a unanimous pick for BSC MVP.

At this point in his career....where would you all rank BQ in terms of all time Griz greats? Does he belong in the conversation in your opinion?

Baller, I agree he belongs in the conversation, but the league is deep with MVP candidates this year. Nobody is near Unanimous this year. Then again, there is a lot of games left to separate teams and players.

MVP candidates so far this year are Qvale, Cherry, Beitzel, Cameron Jones, Eric Rush, and Chris Harriel.
Cameron Jones will need his team to help him out by snapping out of a funk. Harriel will not win it because Portland State is ineligible. Rush is doing a lot of everything, just like Cherry.

Qvale, Cherry, Beitzel, and Rush are my top 4, and all very even in my book.

Qvale is the best Center ever for Montana, but I feel LK is the best frontcourt player in GRIZ history. The best in GRIZ history is MRR. Cherry will join this group list too.

We are blessed with enough really good players to put together a second devision 1 team! But will and brain are the cream of UM b-ball. I would like to see how they play after the game if you know what I mean. Keep it up grizzlies!

Qvale certainly took a huge step toward MVP tonight. Beitzel though has his team leading the league.

he's doing it while getting doubled and tripled every time he touches it in a set. If the griz had selvig hitting and one other dude step up from outside, along with cherry getting better, he'd be having an amazing scoring year.

If the griz ever get hot from the outside for a sustained period of time, say conference tournament and beyond, they would be a very, very good team.

A healthy and in shape Jamar will help a lot. Wood is a better shooter off the bench in limited minutes. Steward can hit enough to keep you honest. Cherry is either on fire or building brick houses. Selvig can hit at a consistent clip. I just think he is too valuable closer to the basket, at high post. Stockton is improving, but far from a threat from 3.

The GRIZ cannot get worse from 3 than they were the 1st half of the season. They are improving, and need to continue improving. Qvale with one on one coverage could not be stopped. As is, that is tough.

frankly i don't think it's even close. when lilliard went down, qvale was the next logical choice. and he's lived up to it and then some. i'll bet anyone anything they want that says your boy qvale is big sky mvp. congrats.

on another note...you guys might want to take your foot off the gas pedal a little because in the last five or so seasons...hosting the big sky tourney hasn't always been a good thing. :D

The kid from Northern Colorado and BQ have got to be the top 2, how can Rush even be mentioned he basically disappeared in the 2 games verses the Griz, minus one huge dunk. BQ dominates the game in too many ways not to be the mvp, especially at the defensive end. I think it will all come down to whoever wins the conference between UM and UNC.

Qvale will be the conference MVP, barring something like an injury. He is the best UM center of all time. I think he will be in the NBA, either sooner or later. He is improving weekly and still has alot of room to improve more (and I believe he will). I saw that he was a good shot blocker as a frosh. I saw that he could be physical and a pretty good defender, as well as a good rebounder. He has become a much better player in the last year or so. His offensive has kept getting better. He has greatly improved his hands this year. He doesn't put the ball on the floor. Until this year, however, I didn't realize how athletic he was. He is very athletic. He has a nice touch. Wherever his game came be criticized, he has the potential to improve it. He's a joy to watch, and a great kid.

Absolutely agree, Player Rep. It's been a real pleasure to interview him over the past four years. I just think he should have been named second team all conference last season, because of his solid conference play. On top of everything he's done this year, he's a good kid: modest, squared away, a very hard worker, a team player. And, focused only on the next game.
