Brett Favre retires

I'm pretty surprised that he's hanging it up actually, he's got a very talented and young offense around him and he enjoyed a lot of success this year by managing games rather than being a gunslinger.
I'll miss the guy though, I grew up watching Brett, it's going to be weird to not hear his name next year.

In other news, RE/MaxGriz found dead with mouse and keyboard still in his hands after having time to soak in this news event.

Aaron's the guy - I have a lot confidence in him being able to manage this offense - he's shown this last pre-season and against Dallas that he knows this offense an can do well in it.
The good thing is that Rogers is going to have an experienced OL, skilled WRs, a rising star RB and a great defense. He's not going to have to win games on his own, he'll just have to manage the offense until he gets more comfortable as the starter.
It will be very sad to see another NFL season on the horizon and know that Favre will not be a part of it. I'm not even really a Packer fan, but I've loved watching Favre play for years and years: the heart of a champion, the love-of-the-game of a 10-year-old ... the way football should be played.
