Brawl Bravado

I don't understand how fans (on either side) can be so confident in either direction the brawl could go. "The cats will crush the griz" or "griz are going to steamroll the cats" comments are just nonsense. Historically, previous record and ranking have absolutely nothing to do with this game. Even more so this year than most, cat griz is a complete toss up and anything could happen. Could be a blowout in either direction and could be a close game with one team squeaking out a win. Any scenario is possible. I lean toward the hopeful optimism keeping in mind we have home field advantage. But the reality is behind the Brawl Bravado on both sides - anyone with a brain knows anything can happen!

That's why they are called "fans" short for "fanatics"!!

Well stated. I don’t think home field advantage is given enough credence in this game. Lookout if the Griz come out hot and the crowd gets into it. You are correct though and will be interesting to see the over under in Vegas on that game.

I think as of the last 10-12 years, with both teams being so even, homefield hasn't meant as much. Don't get me wrong, I'd much rather this game be in Bozeman this year. The griz are playing really well. But in that time frame the Cats have won like 4 times in Missoula, and the griz have won 3-4 in Bozeman I believe.

In regards to "bravado", I think that's just fans being fans. You guys beat our asses 2 years ago. We beat your asses last year. Certain fans are always going to predict blowouts. Especially on anonymous message boards. I think anyone being objective expects the game to play out more like the goal line stand in Missoula a few years ago, and less like the blowout the last time we meant.

I always anticipate this game as 50-50. You guys get momentum early with that crowd and things could be trouble for the Cats. That's why this game is so amazing.

Good points, good discussion. . . but I don't have enough wood around me to knock on. Can we do this NEXT week and focus on PSU (and the Eags) right now?
