The Grizzlies, will open the season at Boise State and then play at Loyola Marymount. Montana also plays Santa Clara on the road, and plays host to teams from Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Stanford and Western Kentucky.

It will be interesting to see all the new talent, how they grow and contribute.

Your guys' schedule is definitely better than ours. We might get a lot of OOC wins next year, but I doubt they'll do much for our RPI because our SOS will be so weak... again.

BOLD PREDICTION: Caroll will upset the Cats in Bozeman!!!!

Think that will happen, BozoneCat?

I am not BozoneCat , but I did stay at a Holiday Inn in Bozeman.

Will Not Happen!, but it was nice to see MSU schedule NAIA power Carroll , good for the state, and a whole lot of quality Montana players! Any chance D-1AA power UM will scedule Carroll in football!? ...... hello .........who turned out the lights ......... where did everyone go........ Damn!............. Why is it when ever you mention UM playing Carroll, the Griz seem to run for the hills

NOT-SO-BOLD DEDUCTION: milehighgriz is a mile high idiot!!! I doubt that you'd care to bet on that game. Hell, if the griz were playing Carroll, it would happen before Wintersession and you'd only have half of your players eligible...

MslaCat, Why do we not see the Cats schedule Carroll in football? My guess is the same reason the Griz would not schedule them. My guess is also that Carroll would not want to play either of them. A game like that would not benefit any of the programs involved.

I would bet on the game!!! Also, every player would be eligible to play, you do not lose eligiblility when transferring down a division. Also, it would be anywhere from Carroll's 4-7 game, while it would be the Bobcats first or second game.

So is this wishful thinking, or have any of the football fans thought this through.
-First game of 12th game. The Cats have a team that returns 9 of its top players that finished 2nd last year, will be playing together all summer. How much adjusting are the Cats going to have to do?

-Have you ever noticed how bench warmers from the Montana D-1 teams become instant stars @ the Frontier level? Erik Henkle will chew up the other guards on Carrolls team!

-Carrol is a great team, but they are not going to catch the Cats flat footed.

As far as football goes my point is it is not the Bobcat fans and coaches who call ourselves "the premeir program in the D-1AA" The premier fans in D-1AA, the premier home field advantage in D-1AA, The toughest home field advantage in all of D1-AA, all on a daily basis. I mean the Cats are a up and coming team yes, but according to the Griz faithful the Griz are standing all alone at the top of the heap. Thowing scraps to the remainder of the College football teams in the State. How could Carrol scare Hauk

Mslacat, great points. In recent years, frontier teams have played D-1 teams tough in the exibition games. Last year Rocky played the Griz tough. A while ago Carroll went into Adams fieldhouse and should have won. (Team featured, Gamradt, Salomon, Stilles, Lynch) Carroll also played Utah in Utah and lost by 20 and beat Idaho State last year. This year coming up Carroll has a very good team with an assistant coach that game plans better then anyone in the state at any level, and I wouldn't be surprised if the Saints beat the Cats. Do you think the Cats or Griz would think about going into Helena to play the Saints?

MsslaCat, love your insight, but have a bone to pick with you on this. Carroll has played Big Sky talent and Utah (they weren't bad) and competed pretty well. That being said, I doubt they will beat MSU when push comes to shove. They won't be strong enough inside. But there guard play will cause fits for the Bobcats. Also, Henkel will not start next year for Carroll. He will end up a great player for them, but I see him having to wait his turn. Keep up the great efforts on the board though, you lend some credible insight and knowledge to this mess quite often. :D

Carroll should have won tonight. If it wasn't for a last second shot, the Cats would have lost. I guess my prediction wasn't too off. Tough lost for the Saints, they had them. Bozeman playing horrible lately and better wake up before conference play comes.
