Bozeman basketball player commits to Idaho State

BOZEMAN - Forward Jeni Guertin of Bozeman has made a verbal commitment to play basketball at Idaho State starting in 2009.
She made her official visit over the weekend.
"You just know," she said. "I scrimmaged with them when I was down there and it was just so fluid. I felt like I fit right in."
Guertin averaged 7.7 points and 4.5 rebounds as a junior as Bozeman won the state Class AA championship for the second straight year. "She's coming from a winning program. She comes in with a number of successful teams," said Bozeman coach Brooke Svendsen, who played at Montana State. "That's something you just can't teach."
Guertin said the Bengals have been talking to her since she finished summer basketball with the Big Sky Hoops AAU team.
Guertin said she wanted to make her decision before the start of basketball season so she could concentrate on her senior year and defending the state title.
NCAA regulations prohibit coaches from talking about recruits until they sign a national letter of intent. Guertin can sign starting on Nov. 7.
