I'm pretty sure I'm the only one who used the term "boycott," and I used it tongue in cheek (I said "apparently" I was "boycotting" the bowl games because I hadn't watched any yet). And I ended up watching a few. I always watch games that involve Pac-12 teams (regional loyalty and all), and these have been some of the best games yet. I have no plans to watch any of the rest, except for the "championship" game on Monday night.
Part of me thinks that bowl games are fine. It's always about the money, anyway, and bowl games have no pretense, really - they're just a big corporate whorefest pageant. And even with playoffs, there would always be controversy in terms of who got in, how they were seeded, etc. And the west would always be screwed somehow, which fits right in with the whorefest theme.
And is it really that important who is "numero uno?" It wasn't to Oregon or Oklahoma State last night. But I still like FCS playoffs, too.
