Bobcats vs East Tennessee

Correct me if I'm wrong but are the Bobcats playing the second division II team this year? If so I believe there would be a revolt if this was the Griz. It seems strange to me but maybe its just because its the Bobcats. :D

If this was discussed before I apologize, I was just surprised to see this today.

ETSU is FCS, but this is their 1st season after reviving the program after being dormant since 2003 i think.
They did get beat by a d-3 this year, so its certainly embarrassing that the scats scheduled them.

Actually, if I'm not mistaken, ETSU lost to two D-III teams this year. Another way to put it is that this is a team that has not won a game since November 22, 2003 ... when they squeaked by The Citadel 16-13. :o

Must be nice to pad your statistics against a God knows what ... Glorified high school team?

Well that seems even worse then a DII team in some ways. The Bobcats purposly for whatever reason gave themselves two give me games. Those have to be tough to be excited about for their fans. I hope the Griz don't schedule the same way for non conference in the future. I think it's pretty laughible.

MSU fans will be super psyched about this game. Snake Pliskin is in at QB already. Playing ETSU is a fucking joke. Nice job, MSU.

I give MSU a break. For those that don't know, Jacksonville State, who could be the best team int he country, dumped a scheduled trip to Bozeman so they could step up and play Auburn. This happened in either late July or early August, and ETSU was what MSU was left with. So, I'm not going to knock them for that. The Griz have played plenty of patsies in my time as a Griz fan. However, listening to MSU fans say "the defense finally is coming together" after blanking the single worst team in the FCS, and yes, ETSU is the worst team in the FCS, is laughable.

Mike Callaghan, color commentator, and former cat linebacker, was not impressed with the cat D. He mentioned something toward games end about 300+ yards allowed. Final figure 376 total yards.

The Wombat defense totally collapsed. Eastern Tennessee should have had -47 against any decent defense.

I don't think any of the Cat fans are bragging about this win... Most fans know that out defense is quit possibly the worst defense we have ever put on a field.. Interesting how we have close to the best offenses in the nation, and close to the worst defense in the nation. We may have won our last game of the season today..

I'm not sure what the deal is in Bozeman, but that defense is something only a mother could love. They honestly should just not take the field against a legitimate opponent. No reason to risk injury to those young fellas, and they aren't going to stop any decent offense anyway.

I don't think most MSU fans are happy with Peter Fields and Rob Ash at the moment. That game does nothing to help your team or your football program in the long run. Games like this drive fans away. The speed of the game slows down a ton when you play a bad team like this. Look for #22 to break a school record against the cat defense that will be taking bad angles next week.

#22 is the real deal, and a freshman. With some experience, a seasoned O line, holy crap.

The irony! Jacksonville State pulled a bobcat move on the bobcats. They must have been watching the NDSU-cat buyouts. What goes around comes around.
