I just sent an e-mail stating my support for RE. We should have cleaned house long ago, the sooner we can change the culture the better off everyone will be.

Why does somebody go out of their way to practice their ignorance then make a public statement to remove any doubt?

I e-mailed all of them, and received one reply from Pat Williams. He said that he supported Mr. Engstrom 100%, said that Royce acted fast to clean up an athletic program whose players had given UM a negative image nationally an across the state. He also said that he attributed much of the drop in enrollment to the negative press caused by the problems around the athletic department. I guess we know where he stands now, and it is not pretty.

Hmmm...let's see. There was a real issue with Beau Donaldson who was arrested prior to the the firings and is guilty. There is not a jury in the world that will convict JJ. He was indicted to get the US Justice Deparment off the county attorney's back. So how many of the UM sexual assault allegations involving the football team have come to light that required RE to "clean up the athletic program" ?

I'm going to wait to hear the results of the NCAA investigation and for JJ's trial before responding to the BOR. If there are no material NCAA citations and JJ is found innocent, multiple lives and the reptutation of the Unversity of Montana will be damaged, perhaps irreparably, from rumors, innuendo and bad decisions at the top.

This is much bigger issue than football.

Mmmm...I wonder if the Clery Act pops up anywhere? Time will tell but we sure need that foreign exchange student money! Plus isn't it about time for a review of UM investigation procedures by an INDEPENDENT,FAIR, and UNBIASED task force as recommended by Diane Bartz. I'll say this when the scales begin to tilt against Engstrom someone on the BOR always "supports" him. It will be interesting to see this scandal unravel.

Engstrom has certainly been a disaster as UM President, and things are likely to get worse, but I am afraid it is a waste of time to write BOR members, especially Pat Williams about this travesty. Williams and other BOR minds are already made up, and these arrogant politicians think they are smarter than the rest of us, and they don’t really care what we think anyway.

I am afraid we are stuck with jerkwad Engstrom until his incompetence either becomes so evident that even the politicians will want to dump him to protect themselves, or until jerkwad Engstrom finds a higher paying job and moves on, since incompetent managers who fire others to deflect attention from themselves are often rewarded with better jobs (the Peter Principle). :roll:
