In a three-way deal today, the BoSox sent disgruntled OF Manny Ramirez to the Dodgers and the Pirates sent youngster Jason Bay to Boston. LA and Boston sent no-namers to Pittsburgh. Looks like LA and Boston bulking up for playoff runs and a Pittsburg salary dump. Not sure why LA made the deal, though, since they now have SIX OFs that would start on other teams. Even Torre's not sure how he's going to get PT for all of them. My guess is to be on the lookout for further trades involving LA.
In another big trade, Cincinnati screwed over their own fans by shipping Ken Griffey, Jr., to the ChiSox. I guess the Reds are capitulating as well.
