Billings Griz, tell us more about the Skyview player. . .

Billings Griz hoop fans, tell us more about the Skyview basketball player who is in Missoula this weekend at team camp. I can't get over there to watch team camp but my inside source confirmed that he is going to be a sophomore or junior, and that Travis has already offered him. Word is that he is a guard with a lot of skills. I don't know the name but apparently he is the next blue chip hoops player in the state - and word is that he plays without an attitude (in a positive sense). That's all I've got, help us out Billings people.

That would be Rayquan (sp?) Evans. His father played for the GRIZ. I mentioned him last year at the team camp. I am about to head over to watch today too. Here is the link from last season's team camp. http://www.egriz.com/grizboard/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=66448

Dang it ' Rule. I was there and just got back to Butte. I intended to do a write up on Evans cause he really shined. My kid blocked him once but got dunked on twice...:(. Evans is about 6'3 (6-6 with the Afro). He dribbles well. Shoots the three real well and dunks in traffic. He reminds me very much of Rodger Fasting. A big long guard. This kid is a real deal.

I got schooled plenty by Fasting. Dad's side of the family is from Glendive and I attended Dawson CC while Fasting was in HS. Evans makes the game look easy. He is so relaxed on the court. He will be terrific when he is a SR. :thumb:

Lotta people got school by Fasting. He was a lefty which pretty much meant his guy was going to give up a layup at first.

Another Skyview player in the news. Oregon State ends up taking Kendall Manuel as a late recruit this year. He's smooth and pretty good sized but not sure if UM or MSU had offered him. I know he's a good friend of Tres Tinkle. Two MT kids to one Pac 12 team in the same year probably hasn't happened before.

Here is what I said about Kendall Manuel in my thread titled Possible Montana B-Ball Players:

"Kendall Manuel is very, very good. I am suprised he isn't a Griz, or cat. As many are wondering."

I had seen this OSU news on the news too and I am glad Wayne Tinkle agrees with me.
