Big Sky teams in the Brackets!

UM will host first round game, with winner traveling to SUU. Winner of that game will travel to NDSU, assuming they win their first game. I'd guess if PSU advanced far enough they would play NDSU in 2nd round.

May I ask why you don't think UND will make it?

This is obviously after the fact but my reasoning was as follows

-- Every year we see East Coast bias, the further east you go the worse it normally is (although this year it was in Ilinois)

-- Hard to distinguish between two 3 loss Big Sky teams, the obvious dividing line was 3 teams. There was no way they would take 4 from a conference that is considered weaker this year then normal (true or not). Its considered weaker, IMO because the traditional powerhouses had down years.

-- UND has no "tradition" in FCS playoffs. If it was an EWU with a similar record (one more win for them), then I believe a team like that would've gotten in. We know that many years a 7-4 MT record gets us in, because our guarantee is nice for first rounds even in down years.

-- IMO, there were more bad losses than quality wins (1 vs PSU). Wyoming had Idaho type of year this year so although they were FBS....it doesn't stand out as if they were bowl qualified for example.

Nothing against UND, NAU had the same issues.

SUU would have to play a first round game for that to happen as they are not getting a seed. PSU will get a seed

Which is BS.....I understand PSU had more wins, and a better record but they did not win the conference. IMO it diminished the entire process.

Conference championships have nothing to do with the seeding process. Should they? Maybe

Yes of course...otherwise just eliminate all conferences. There should be a reward for winning the conference.

There is, it is called a guaranteed place in the tourney. Look at no further than San Diego last year. If it wasn't for the auto bid there is no way they would be in..

Bad example....San Diego won there conference. Auto-bid is fine, but 2nd place team should not get a seed over the conference winner.

Only thing winning a Conference entitles a team to is the autobid......not seeding

Lost Oredigger once I asked if SUU won or lost its game against PSU.

seeding is to benefit the 8 best teams not 8 conference winners....PSU is the better team...not sure you can argue that...you can say that SUU won the conference, but PSU beat them and with the unbalanced conference schedule not all conference records are equal....

SUU chose to go for two in their game against PSU. They could have just kicked the PAT and played for OT. But they didn't. They must have known the conference championship was in their favor. Yes PSU beat SUU but did they really beat them? SUU had to know the realistic outcome.....

Maybe, but would the committee seed a team that did not win the conference over one that did? I would think that highly strange.

I think they would...especially when that team beat the autobid team and has wins over 2 FBS schools...
The two FBS opponents are a combined 3-19 with one of the wins over Weber. Not sure how much that helps. The loss to ISU and two blowout losses can't help either. I don't think there's enough love for the BSC to take four; I'm betting on three.
Washington State is 7-3, about to be 8-3. Not sure where you get the combined 3-19 from?
Derived from the UND whining above in which they beat Wyoming (1-10). I mistakenly got Dakotas crossed; SDSU, who beat Kansas. UND lost to Idaho St. and had blowout losses to Montana and NDSU. They are ranked 28th behind NAU; neither were going to make it.
