@ SPANKY - Thanks Capt Obvious but I still couldn't DISAGREE more with you. It's an analogy based upon the persona of each program. The depth of the conference & the wealth of playoff caliber programs on a annual basis.

Check out my comparison & share your thoughts!

Alabama - The most winning tradition. Highest expectation & most rabid fans base (= Montana)
Tennessee - Progressive program often bucking in the face of tradition yet proven (= Montana State)
LSU - Always been a team you dont want to play & recently they seem to always be a threat (= EWU)
Georgia - A threat to everyone, Ground & Pound type program. Will always be a contender (= Cal-Poly)
Auburn - Periods of occasional dominance in the past. Sandwiched by inconsistency & Chaos (= PSU)
Florida - Regularly near the top of the conference & always a post season contender (= Sac State)
Texas A&M - New kids on the block but dont take them lightly. Disciplined & steep w Tradition (= SUU)
Arkansas - Should be more then they are & represent their true winning tradition (i.e Cal-Davis)
Mississippi - Traditional conference doormat w/ much to over come. May never win big again (= UNC)
Missouri - Probably over shoot the run way moving into the conference; Middle of the road (= UC-Davis)
South Carolina - No longer a gimme! Better bring it & defense is their calling card (= NAU)
Kentucky - Dont get caught sleeping; Will fight to the death upset minded every weekend (= ISU)
Vanderbilt - Tough at home especially late in the year; Challenged by institutional standards (= Weber St)
Mississippi State - Still trying to get it right. The regions "Red Headed Step Child" program (= Idaho)

What do you think? Have some fun with it!

I see the conference as this as a HUGE advantage for the Griz in the immediate & long term future as well. Its one of the reasons I am proud that my son plays for Montana. The championship flows through the Big Sky Conference.

As we all know you cant win it...if you aint in it! Small step back for giant gains forward!

In this example, I'd liken Montana st. with Mississippi st. Temporarily 'up' but destined for failure.

Not sure how long you've followed the big sky conference but the Bobcats have 14 BSC championships second only to the griz.

Ironically enough, while my PSU flag flies proudly on the front of my house during the football season, the couple directly across the street are both Auburn graduates, big football fans, and fly their Auburn flag all season. I'll have to mention this to him, he'll get a chuckle.

While I would love to be considered the Florida of the SEC, I think our success, or lack of, would probably put us in the Miss St. realm

After beating Oregon State and Colorado on consecutive years, I think the hornets deserve a ton of respect.

Need more consistency, though. Need to string together some playoff runs. Even though we're 5-2 with only one loss at the 1-AA level, I could easily see us going 0-4 to finish the season.
