Hello everyone, we are right around the Midway point in the season and Big Sky Conference play is starting to take shape. Haven't seen any threads in regard to this so I figured why not let's get this started, my rankings from what I've seen of the Big Sky so far:
1. Montana
2. Sac State
3. WSU
4. MSU
5. ISU
I have these teams as my top five currently. Sacramento State is going to be one of if not the scariest teams we face this season, Weber State is solid, Montana State though showing issues on offense I still feel as one of the better teams in the conference. Idaho State might surprise some people but they are a starting quarterback away from beating Northern Iowa and beat the brakes off North Dakota who beat Davis. This next category of teams I'm going to call "Jekyll and Hyde" programs due to their up and down seasons:
6. NAU
7. Portland State
8. UC-Davis
9. EWU
10. Idaho
Honestly you could put any of these teams in any particular order and make some argument for it. All of them have shown flashes of Brilliance and downright head-scratching performances. Idaho for example almost beats Wyoming, upsets Eastern Washington and plays tough against Weber State only to lose to Northern Colorado. Portland State in particular could be a trap game for us if we're not careful. Last but not least the cellar dwellers:
11. UNC
12. Cal Poly
13. SUU
Pretty self-explanatory, Cal poly's only win in conference is against SUU, the Bears somehow beat Idaho and the Thunderbirds are looking like utter crap this season. I would imagine in particular Cal Poly and maybe even Northern Colorado will be looking for new coaches at the end of this year.
