What if this happens:

18 Northern Arizona (8-3) 7-1 (@ UM (loss), vs. msu (win), & @ S. Utah (win))
17 Southern Utah (8-3) 6-2 (vs. N Dakota (win), @ UC Davis (win) & vs NAU (loss)
19 Weber State (9-2) 7-1 (@ EWU (win), @ PSU (win) & vs. ISU (win))
11 Eastern Washington (7-4) 6-2 (vs Weber(loss), @ N Dakota(win), vs PSU(win))
Montana (8-3) 5-2 (vs NAU(win), vs UNC(win) & @msu(win))

Would EWU sit with wins vs UM and only losses to playoff/FBS teams?

I’ve wondered that too, but Eastern very well could be out in that case...funny thing is they’d still be ranked about 15th if that happened

This could happen or am I missing something? What a mess - five teams at 8-3.

1.) Weber is probably in, I don't see them winning in Cheney this weekend, especially with EWU coming off a bye, but I don't see them losing either of their last 2...

2.) EWU is in if they can beat Weber. Eastern should win its last 2 against the big sky bottom dwellers, but probably needs to beat Weber to make the playoffs this Saturday.

3.) SUU is almost a lock...they have two big wins in conference, and a pretty easy schedule down the stretch, tough to see them going anything worse than 2-1 in their last 3 and they are in if they do.

4.) NAU - tough one, they haven't played anyone in conference yet (EWU, WSU, UM, MSU, SUU), but they end with 3 tough games. I don't see them going 3-0, but if they go 2-1 they are in, anything worse and I think they are done.

5.) Griz - I still think the Griz can finish 7-4 and make it in, unless the loss is to MSU who then goes to 7-4 (assuming they win the next two weeks)...8-3 and the griz are a lock.

6.) MSU - I think MSU at 7-4 is in. A big winning streak which would include wins over NAU and UM, I think MSU is in if they win out.

Looking at playoff bids, the only leagues that matter are the CAA, Big Sky, MVFC and kind of the Southern and Southland...The MVFC is going to beat up on each other the last 3 weeks so more of those teams will lose. Tough to see a scenario where the Big Sky doesn't get 4 teams in, possibly 5 the way things shake out....

IF...the Cats win out the four losses are to #10 South Dakota State, #19 Weber State, #11 EWU, and Washington State...With last 3 wins coming against #25 Kennisaw State, #18 NAU and UM.

and I think this week they win rather large against a "ranked" team.

Honestly, I think we should want them to win this weekend because it is a good conference win and then if Griz do beat them, it makes it a better win.

That would be how the BS gets 5 teams. I could be wrong but I don’t think a 8-3 BS team has been left out since it went to 20 teams and then 24 teams

NO team at 7-4 from the sky will get in this year. Conference considered to weak. All likely hood there is zero chance for the cats in teh psot season

MSU might because they have played 5 ranked opponents this season at the FCS level along with WSU. They have a good SoS to back them up so there may be a chance for them.

If the cats win out they deserve a playoff spot and I think they would probably get one.
