Thursday offered some interesting results, but, in the end did not change much in the overall race. (I’m only going to consider conference records here.) As expected, Weber showed its dominance over sad EWU. At least with winless NAU and Sac State meeting each other, one got to climb out of the absolute cellar. And Idaho at Idaho State let those two hang around in the middle. The most interesting result was the tussle Northern Colorado gave leader Portland State … right down to the wire before losing by 3 points.

So what do we have for today, with everyone in action? I’ll leave Griz-Cat for its own thread, but what about the others?

NAU (0-5) at Portland State (4-0)
I see zero chance of an upset here. The Vikings should stay on top while NAU stays in the cellar.

Idaho (2-2) at Weber State (4-1)
I see an easy Weber win, keeping WSU as a solid contender.

EWU (1-3) at Idaho State (3-2)
As bad as the Eags are this year, I don’t see much chance of an upset here. The Bengals could start looking like a respectable (almost) contender. Still, stranger things have happened.

Northern Colorado (1-4) at Sac State (1-3)
Well, in this clash of titans, at least one will come away with two conference wins.

I know there are a lot of games still to be played, but it should be interesting to see if we get more – or possibly less – separation in the standings.

NAU hanging tougher than I expected against Portland State ... down to a single-digit gap with a bit under 8 min to go in the game.

EWU with a hot start at ISU ... almost 20 points ahead with about 3 min left in the first half.

PSu did take care of business, winning 63-52.

Other final: EWU over ISU, 84-66. Anomaly, or have the Eagles turned it around?

Idaho maintaining a small lead on Weber deep into the 2nd half.

NoColo leading Sac State by over 10 points midway in 1st half.

Oh, the irony! The two one-trick ponies (one conference win each) – Northern Colorado and Sac State – have gone into overtime.
