What are your thoughts on the potential move to a neutral site? Boise seems to be a pretty central location, but will fans of Big Sky teams travel to the tourny?
If Idaho State Athletic Director Paul Bubb gets his way, the Big Sky Conference basketball tournaments will be played in Boise by 2008.
Bubb is pushing for the conference to move its tournament to a neutral site. Currently, the regular-season champion gets to host the end-of-season tournament, where the winner advances automatically to the NCAA national tournament.
"I support the idea of expanding the conference tournament to all eligible members and even to going to a pre-determined neutral site for the tournament," Bubb said. "I believe all fans could better plan to attend, and I believe a central site is key to building up the tournament as have many other conferences.".....
One of the idea's strongest supporters is Montana head coach Larry Krystkowiak. Before leading the Grizzlies to the last two NCAA tournaments, Krystkowiak coached one season for the CBA's Idaho Stampede.
