Football season is right around the corner, so lets here everyone's opinion. How many years will it be, before Montana wins the Big Sky?

I think this is the year we start winning the conference again. After a successful first year under the belt for Stitt, I expect that we win the conference. The question is will we win it by going undefeated or will we win it with one loss? I think we go undefeated in conference play this year, if everyone stays healthy.

I think we have a decent shot at winning the conference this year if we can stay healthy and play well on the road. Northern Iowa will be a tough game, if we dont turn the ball over we'll have a chance. At Cal Poly is always a tough place to play. At N. Arizona, we dont always play well down there. I dont know if its the elevation and being indoors or what but we tend to struggle at times down there. At Eastern, never have we won on that red turf so that will be a challenging game. At N. Colorado that should be easy win.

We'll probably drop 1 maybe 2 games on the road this year and hopefully we can run the table at home.

and yes, i know that Northern Iowa isnt a conference game but its a game on the road that we can win if we play well.

I voted 1 year.

I think UND has too easy of a track for the Griz to keep up with this year and/or could see NAU winning it too. It could happen this year, but I think 2017 will be a prime year for it. Our defense should be very experienced and very good. Our WR corps will no longer be inexperienced either. Losing Gus and a big group of the OL will sting, Phillips should rise to the occasion and Germer's been grooming these backups for 2 years now. 2017 seems like the ideal season for a title.

And the 2017 conference schedule doesn't have us going to Cali at all and there's better balance of challenging games at home and on the road

9/23/2017 Eastern Washington * Missoula, Mont. TBD Details
9/30/2017 Portland State * Portland, Ore. TBD Details
10/7/2017 Idaho State * Pocatello, Idaho TBD Details
10/14/2017 North Dakota * Missoula, Mont. TBD Details
10/28/2017 Weber State * Ogden, Utah TBD Details
11/4/2017 Northern Arizona * Missoula, Mont. TBD Details
11/11/2017 Northern Colorado * Missoula, Mont. TBD Details
11/18/2017 Montana State * Bozeman, Mont. TBD Details

The University of Montana Grizzlies will win the conference this year and every year for the rest of eternity.

What changes to make that happen?

Our offense needs to improve on 3rd down. Too many 3 and outs. We have cut down on turnovers and dumb penalties. I have to admit that our defense carries us on the road. They are on the field way too much but if we convert 3rd down then that's less time they are on the field.

It comes down to just settling down and playing smart. If we can do that then we have a good chance of winning on the road.

As 420 has stated....gotta find a way to play well on the road. Not just finding a way to win, but actually putting the hurt on some teams in their own stadiums. I think keeping a good RB healthy will also be key this season, and defensive backs obviously.

Altogether, I'll be disappointed if we don't get a share of the BSC this season.
