Seems a little premature to me as there could be upwards of 6+ teams not in the Big Sky by 2027 if all goes right with conference realignment and G5 playoff possibilities. Also the possibilities that Eastern and PSU move down or drop Football by that time.

Or that the BSC even exits?!

No Idaho in 2027? I thought they were a rivalry game to be played every year. Did I miss something?
With SUU leaving for 2022 requiring scheduling adjustments, the BSC brains changed our rivalries to MSU and PSU. Figure. Idaho and EWU are in our same neighborhood, but logic should never get in the way of such intellect. And why consider something like the Little Brown Stein?

We don't play Idaho in 2024, either.

Our new rivals are Bozeman and PSU.

The annual game with the Viks (sic) harkens back to the intense rivalry the programs shared from the early 1950’s thru the late 1990’s.

In reality it was a ploy to sell more shitty pretzels by the PSU Coach.

The big sky conference fucked up (again).

We play almost nobody at home in 2026
Good thing you added the "almost." SacSt at home, the back-to-back BSC champion and #4 playoff seed this past year. They've rolled us the last two meetings.

It’s so hard to tell which of those teams will be good and which ones won’t in 2026. Right now it looks pretty soft, but that could change.

I can't believe I missed that...seems almost like a joke. Apparently it happened this summer:

https://406mtsports.com/college/big-sky-conference/montana-state-university/montana-montana-state-get-new-protected-rivals-in-big-sky-conference-play-for-2022-24/article_ae86c5df-5033-5806-b1a5-9c24b6fb5c97.html

So PSU requested to play UM in order to bolster their attendance. Maybe when they drop football in the next few years things will get back to a more normal order

Programs were asked to select their two rivals. Literally every school in the conference (#bsc) chose Montana because it’s the only game for which they can sell tickets.

And when your budget is as tight as it is for most bsc (#bsc) programs, that few extra thousand bucks makes a difference.

We sure belong in this conference….
