We like to bitch about Big Sky referees, often because they seem to call too many fouls. However … be careful what you wish for. Just watched a chunk of a Big East game between St. John’s and Xavier. As the announcers commented: “they let’em play.” That meant a lot of the action looked like public muggings, it was so rough. Even at that, several key players fouled out. Apparently, this is common for Big East games.
Aside: Dillon Darling scored 11 points for St. John’s in Rick Pitino’s 900th win. Big Sky (Idaho State) Player of the Year in 2024.
