There will be a MAJOR News story from within ISU Athletics sometime this afternoon. Stay tuned, I have heard it is very damaging to the ISU Athletic Dept.

He's back  (GB1 that is)

So, since they don't hint at much, have any idea what the story really is here?

I have an idea, but I am not posting it. I think it will all come out very soon, and could be somewhat ugly.

That wouldn't be a big deal, just make the students pay for it!

Could be worse.
At least he didn't criticize Big Sky officials in public.

you say that like it's a bad thing????

I'll say it- the Big Sky Sucks, especially the mini-gods that runt he thing. Their game officials are the worst I have ever seen in a Division one football conference, and I'm not much of a fanof hte Hoops either.

Have em call me if they wanna talk, I've contacted them enough times they have given up even defending themselves for any of their on the field or off the field actions.

Heh, I was joking. Our WBB coach was suspended for a game with her comments about officiating.

BSC officials are terrible with a capital T.

cash rules everything around me.

It's the money, it's always about the money.

ISU is facing lots of internal turmoil. Other staffers are at a loss about where the program as a whole is headed.

Doesn't sound to me like it's an issue of simply playing Iowa for a big payday.

Questions surround Bubb issue

POCATELLO — Idaho State University officials released few new details Friday about their decision to place Athletic Director Paul Bubb on indefinite paid administrative leave Thursday morning. So far, the university’s officials have not disclosed a reason for the decision, arguing that it is a personnel matter and it would be inappropriate to comment on it at this time. ISU Public Safety, the campus’ police force, was dispatched when Bubb was notified of his leave. In response to a Freedom of Information Act request by the Journal to obtain the Public Safety incident report, ISU released a onepage document with the narrative: “On 03/06/08 at 0902 hours at Holt Arena, Public Safety stood by to assist a university employee.” Beneath the narrative was the explanation of why the rest of the incident report would not be released: “The remainder of this document constitutes a personnel record having a character that is exempt from public disclosure under the Idaho Open Records Act.” The incident report also confirmed that Public Safety Director Stephen Chatterton was the responding officer and Public Safety considers the case to be closed.
University spokesman Graham Garner said Public Safety responded only as a matter of procedure. “Public Safety accompanied Paul to his office where he collected his personal belongings and left without incident,” Garner said. The Journal’s media law attorney, Debora Kristensen, of Boise, believes ISU has violated the state’s public records act by withholding information from the Public Safety incident report. “Once a law enforcement agency is involved and called to the scene, the report of that incident is not a personnel record, it’s a law enforcement record,” Kristensen said. “As long as it’s not an active investigation, they have no reason to withhold anything. This investigation has been closed, so they have no reason not to release it.” Kristensen said the only way ISU could legally refuse to release the complete incident report under the grounds that it’s a personnel matter is if Bubb worked for Public Safety. Kristensen said unless ISU releases the full campus police report on the Bubb incident, the university could be sued in civil court and ordered by a judge to provide the entire document to the media and public. ISU’s acting athletic director is now Jeff Tingey, who had been assistant athletic director for marketing and corporate sales under Bubb. Tingey, who is the son of ISU Vice President for University Advancement Kent Tingey, handled marketing and other activities for the Brigham Young University football team last year in Provo, Utah.
