Big Games Saturday!

Two big games Saturday, BYU @ Weber and S Dakota St @ UM. BYU is ranked 13th and SD St is ranked 14th in the latest Mid Major poll. Weber has a 20 game home win streak and UM has a 15 game streak. Very excited for these two games. By the way, the Weber game will be on BYUtv (I know how much you all love this channel  ).

I really hope we can put some butts in the seats for Saturday. Especially, as I am assuming Cherry will start?

I wouldn't be surprised to see Will first off the bench with limited minutes, say 10 to 15, rather than start.

He will see time early. It will depend on how the team is playing and how he feels. Tinkle has a tough decision of whose minutes to cut, Gregory, Deshields, or Henderson's? All 3 have earned good minutes. Gregory is a rock and consistent. Henderson is a shutdown defender that can score, and help with rebounding. Deshields is a great creator, but never know what to expect from him.

Will's return will be a huge boost. :thumb:

I would guess your right on at about 15 minutes Rouge.

I would think that all three of those guys will lose some minutes and you can probably throw Weisner and Coleman in there too. Mike and Spencer's time at the 4 is safe but their time at the 3 could be cut by moving Jamar over and have Deshields/Gregory/Henderson playing the other guard spot next to Will. If it is spread out between the five of them they could all still get some descent minutes.

I would love for a big crowd Saturday, but I am doubtful - the Students are gone - as they will be for the Montana State and Weber State games in January (How long has it been since Montana Hosted Montana State when school was actually in session? Seems like a long time).

this year's season is not conducive to getting the students involved. Here are he home games Montana will have when the students are in session:
Lewis & Clark State (NAIA Exhibition) 11/1
Minot State (DII) 11/17
Carroll (NAIA) 12/8
Northern Colorado 2/7
North Dakota 2/9
Sac State 3/7
NAU 3/9

4 D-I games, none that will draw interest from the students, during the 5 month basketball season. That is a shame, and can anyone blame the students for not giving a crap when they get this schedule?

circumstances of all kinds continue to give us crappy home schedules and school calendar offers games when school is not in session. I recall the old days when some pretty decent teams came to play in Missoula....hard to get excited about it all. and exception will be SDSU this Sat nite...should be a pretty good game match up...hope a few thousand will show up

Even sadder, our fan base used winning, and money for playoff football games as an excuse to not go. The GRIZ have the most consistent program in the conference, along with Weber State now. The football team did not make the playoffs, so the time and money is there. Yet, way too many in GRIZ NATION will still stay away. I know Wayne will never make a big deal of it. The man has to be disappointed in our fan base. The team has done its part to have a good products that works hard every game, yet still lack luster support.

Competition, yeah it is disappointing, but we come out in droves for some even worse football match ups. GO GRIZ!!!!!
