I would go with hockey. Everybody rags on hockey all the time, but it is by far the most exciting sport. It combines basketball, football and boxing all in one.

I think the reason most people don't give hockey a chance is because they don't understand it. If you give the sport a chance and try to understand the rules and concepts you will love the game. Go watch a game live, they'll have pretty decent hockey here next year with the Junior program, and you will think football and basketball are boring.

I have to disagree with you that any sport would be boring after going to a Hockey game. I lived in Denver when the Avalanche won the Stanley Cup and went to some games. Even though they regularly sellout, they are still 3rd in popularity to the Broncos and Rockies, and the Rockies suck. The hockey game was fun, but it is far down the list for most fans.

Ok, boring may have been the wrong word. Let's say very slow, since both are considered faster paced sports. The lock-out really hurt the sport, but I think it will come back strong. Bettman just needs to get his act together and get games on a main-stream channel.

I don't think hockey will ever beat out football or baseball, but it could top the NBA in a few years. Just depends on how each commisioner does their job.

Hockey is wayyyy behind a lot of sports, even the WWE for heaven's sake according to a recent ESPN study:

NFL (National Football League)

NBA (National Basketball Association)

MLB (Major League Baseball)

NCAA football (college football)

NCAA basketball (college basketball)

NASCAR (stock car racing)

WWE (professional wrestling)

NHL (National Hockey League)

AFL (Arena Football League)

WNBA (Women's National Basketball Association)

MLS (Major League Soccer)

IRL (Indy Racing League)

I could care less about rankings right now. Just go watch a hockey game if you never have and I can guarantee at least 75-80% will become fans of the game. I have to admit that living in Montana it is hard to find a good hockey game or get excited about it, even though we share a border with Canada and North Dakota.

The sport is slowly growing in this state and the reason this is the case is because most towns can not afford to build and support a rink, look at Bozeman and what happened there. They had the nicest facilities in the state and the owner sold the building for cold-storage. The western side of the state will catch up the the eastern side of the state soon enough with this sport.

I give Sid credit here. The 2000 stanley cup was as exciting as sports gets, although I had a Canadian present who was off his rocker yelling and bouncing around. That new kid Sid Crosbie? is also exciting to watch. Is he the next Gretzsky?

There is not a next Gretzky. There is only one Gretzky, one Jordan, one Montana, etc

I wouldn't say he will be the next Gretzky like Backer said, but The Kid will be the face of the league for years to come.

Better read my post again if you think I said he woul dbe the next Gretzky. I said there will never be another Gretzky. This kid has a ton of other Hockey Legends ahead of him.

I think you misunderstood me, I was agreeing with your post that he won't be the next Gretzky, but he does have the weight of the league on his shoulders to produce.

Is this guy implying that the young Penguin is a cross between singer David Crosby and tight end Doug Cosbie?

for me, i would have to say golf. when i'm not thinking about work or the females, i'm thinking about golf and how to get better.

sorry to all offended by mispellings and comparison to legends. I still think what's his name must be pretty good.

I know it won't fly on this board, but I really enjoy a good world cup or European soccer match. And by good I mean with goals; I hate a scoreless draw as much as anyone
