Bergen"s overturned catch

The other question I have as I haven't been able to go back and look. Did they not only call it incomplete, but did they also penalize the Griz for the false start as well?

No they put them back at the original LOS and it was 3rd and 22 (prev play was 2nd and 22).

By far the worse reversed, overturned call in the history of overturns. I watched the game after getting home from it.
Absolutely ZERO evidence on video of the ball hitting the ground or Iack of possession. What in the hell did that referee see on replay? How could they even begin to argue that play?

They did get the fumble returned TD right though.

ZERO evidence - other than the ball coming out at the end? It MAY have been a catch and a fumble - he clearly took 3 steps with the ball securely in his hands, but he was stumbling to the ground for those 3 steps. As he went to the ground the ball came out and he gathered it in with his legs. In this picture, you can see the white stripe of the ball between his knees and he clearly does not have the ball in his hands.

He was a runner at that point because he had secured the ball and taken several steps. Should have never been ruled incomplete.

I never complain about refs. I didn’t see an incompletion, nor did I hear an explanation in the call. Maybe I missed it. I also didn’t see Bobby complaining. Weird in all aspects.

so if it was a catch and not a drop, hauck had lots of time to consider challenging it, why didn't he? sounds like his booth told him not to.
