BENCH EDWARDS & WE HAVE A CHANCE

Everyone knows the only reason John Edwards remained in the game after going 1 for 20 in the first half is because of the $1,000,000 donation his dad gave to football program. Anyone that has been following Griz footbal knows that Brandon Neil is the better quarterback but had to sit on the bench for 2 years because of politics. John Edwards is a great athlete and could have been utilized at a receiver position allowing the better quarterback, Neil, to lead the offense. If we want a chance this weekend Joe better sit John in favor of Brandon.

The only reason we won a national championship last year is because of YO! Now that YO is gone Edwards weaknesses are amplified.

I can't agree with you on the "only" reason why Johny is playing, but I will say that maybe the Griz should toss Brandon in to play. The offense needs something different. Usualy the QB is the place to start at.

Get over yourself Dunne, money and politics have nothing to do with it. Joe Glenn is overrated and should get most of the blame for the loss.

Think about it. Joe is basically in his "free-agent" period. Why would he let politics ruin future employment opportunities. I don't think he got any of the turf money. I agree with Spokane. It was a bad decision (or lack of a good decision). Maybe it was loyalty turned into blind loyalty.

Got me thinking grizpack.
Every coach we have or will have are in a "free agent period", since they are state employees limited to 1 year contracts. As long as the football program continues to its winning ways, it will continue to be a revolving door for coaches because we can't compete with the high dollar/guaranteed contracts offered by other schools.

Thoughts on this, anyone??????

I agree 100% It is a joke. The way it is set up now, we will always be a stepping stone either up or down the ladder because we cannot offer long term security for the coach, team or recruits. I am sure this hurts us with recruits.

He's already landed a job guys. It is hush hush as not to upset players on the verge of playoffs. I'll give 10-1 he's gone the second the season ends. Makes some sense given the poor preparation the team has had the past couple weeks. The coaches have other tasks on their minds. New housing, moving companies, new bank accounts for their fat new salaries?????

Well, it's obviously not "hush hush" enough. I'd bet that a player or two have been known to read the BS posted by all of us.

The Glenn speculations have gone on since mid-season. Fueled by reports from 1A schools that have him on their short lists. This is not news. It's only speculation, but I think it answers some late season questions combined with injuries and everything else that's going on.

Where is his new job at? There are only 3 or 4 I-A jobs open, and the only one that would be that attractive is Michigan State.

Are you just trying to start a rumor, you didn't state any facts for that comment, what are your facts? Or are you just stirring sh*t up so that you can have something to talk about for the next few days?

Once again you don't carefully read the post. Do you know what speculation is? If there are three or four jobs open already there will be twice that many more as soon as the season ends. Most schools don't fire a coach till the season ends, Nebraska for instance? Think he might be gone? Dennehy was hired away from us weeks before we knew it and weeks before the Utah State coach knew he was even fired. They do it this way. It's like lining up your next girlfriend before you break up with your present one. Some of you guys need a reality check. This is a cruel world and in big business and football they don't always play by the rules. Sad but true.

By the way, the year we lost Dennehy we went 9-3 and got knocked out in the first round of the playoffs. Two of the three losses were in the last three weeks. Familiar senario, you tell me?

Is that speculation too?

When you say something like that, there is no speculation, you are trying to talk like to you know something that everyone else doesn't.

Once again you don't carefully read the post. Do you know what speculation is?

Yes, I know what speculation is, it is when you say something like this... "I THINK, he's already landed a job guys. BUT MY SPECULATION IS, it is hush hush as not to upset players on the verge of playoffs."

Now this is just my spectulation, but since it seems like a lot of people don't carefully read your posts, maybe, just maybe it has something to do with the way they are written. But since I have no facts to back that up, it is just my speculation.

A coach leaving your team can be a major distraction.

Furman AND GSU last year both had their coachs make public a new job offer the week before a playoff game.

I agree with that completely, I am not saying one way or the other if Glenn is going or staying but I know he is here now and I have not heard any facts to say that he is leaving. If he is going, then yes, I sure as hell hope he keeps it under his hat and doesn't buy a new house and open up a bank account somewhere else until the playoffs are over!

Cad.....

I then immediately followed with "I'll give 10-1 that he is gone the second the season ends". OK now I guess anyone that can read and COMPREHEND would see that is not 100% sure and is a guess, be it a confident guess a person was willing to lay odds on.

Please do not twist my words to fit your argument. It is unbecoming and completely transparent.

Don't go JOE. There will be better openings next year.
Visuallise this: A big guy in Griz camo with a painted face on a neighborhood recon mission to scout for and destroy any stratigically placed for sale signs. Sniper crawling towards the signs, uprooting them, and then running back to base with them strapped to his back, for a rondevous with a keg full of Fat Tire *(substitute GGG's favorite ale).

Just a though to lighten the moods around here.
