Being a Griz Fan

I'm relatively new to being a Griz fan compared to others who have been following the Griz for decades. As I'm only 24, I've only experienced the Griz in their dominant era and don't know what it's like to see the Griz struggle and have a losing season. It's been a blast watching the team dominate year after year. But when they struggle, that's when a fan's loyalty is tested.

The last two losses have really sucked, especially tonight. Sure I'm disappointed in the outcome, but I'm OK with it too. People have got to realize that a team will never stay on top and will have their struggles. But we will be back. We may have a bad season, or we may run the table up to the Brawl and end the year with 6-straight wins. Whatever happens, I'm excited for the ride! I get to experience the ups and downs that the Griz go through! I've got Maroon and Silver running through my blood, and will be at every home game cheering my butt off for our Griz, win or lose! I am a Montana Grizzly and proud of it! Time to see who the true fans are!

There are many, many Griz fans who want to have their cake and eat it too. For YEARS (especially since '95 when Idaho and Boise left) people bitched about the quality of the competition in the BSC...bitched that our conference schedule didn't adequately prepare us for the competition come playoff time.

Well, guess what? The competition has stepped up it's game...and now they bitch because we lose the ocassional game....tough shit, I say. When this team runs the table and goes into the playoffs 8-3, they'll be a MUCH better 8-3 team than the 11-0 teams from 5-6 years ago who weren't tested until they hit the 2nd round of the playoffs.

The griz will be fine. If not for a unlucky bounce, griz win that game. Say what you want, but your QB is comin around.

Agree with general premise get'em. Except the Griz have not had a losing season in many, many years. Last year, the Griz went to the semis so was a great season. You may have been referring to no playoffs in 2010 as one of those frustrating times. We are spoiled, but the age of dominance is not over...we will see for sure on Nov. 17th.

WOW - This is a first - me actually agreeing with a cat fan! Spot on Mr. bobcat! Too many Griz fans getting tights in a wad! If this wasn't gonna be a rebuilding year to begin with!

I absolutely agree with you, IF we get there.
