Looks like his base is 240k. I know there was some heated discussion over what Stitt makes on this board at one time. I saw an official BOR document about a week ago that showed Stitt's base at 182k, far short of the 300k some claimed.
Brock Stack at Illinois St is highest paid FCS coach at 300k. Klieman at NDSU made 261k last year and Keeler at SHSU made 250k. The highest paid Big Sky coach is new UC Davis coach Dan Hawkins at 262k

No one claimed Stitt's "base "was $300,000. Go check your facts.

That way, Stitt has time to work on his innovations, genius, enthusiasm, mad science, etc., he can collect his $300,000 salary, wear his Griz slippers and maybe the team will want to come out and play football again.CDAGRIZ said:75, just curious: who should be the coach?
75 did
"Salary" does not equal 'base salary". Salary is bigger and includes some of the other pieces and incentives. For example, some sales people receive a base salary plus a commission percentage or other incentives. Coaches receive all kinds of incentives and additional comp above bases salary. Also, camp and tv/radio show income. Also, car, country club (?), and benefits like insurance and retirement. I think the $300,000 is a pretty good rough estimate of what Stitt would make in a normal year. Much more accurate than base salary.
there are more ways than one to try to define "base salary". after reading greenie's initial denial that "no one claimed stitt's "base "was $300,000.", i spent two minutes doing a search, and found that 75 very clearly claimed that stitt's salary for simply being at um was $300,000 - i.e. his 'base' salary.
hey greenie, do you really think stitt wasn't offered a "package deal" to become the head coach at montana? that the other perks were presented as mere possibilities? just checking.
