State Board Nixes U of I Request To Allow Alcohol During Tailgating

The Idaho State Board of Education has said no to alcohol consumption during tailgating on university campuses.

Board members were split 4-4, effectively killing a proposal by the University of Idaho to amend a policy that prohibits alcohol on college and university campuses.

The UI has traditionally allowed tailgating - with alcohol - in parking lots adjacent to the Kibbie Dome leading up to Vandal football games.

The board is meeting at Idaho State University in Pocatello.

They've never allowed drinking. This decision was merely a continuation of that. So, nothing has changed and the Kibbie Dome still sucks.
