Arizona State QB Ryan Kelley Transfers to EWU

Does anyone know how late the transfer portal is open going into the fall 2021 season? Does it ever actually close and will we see athletes making these jumps through the portal all the way up to fall camp in August?

Grad transfer with 3 years of eligibility left has to be kinda rare. Tweet says he was 4-star.
Couple of things. First, why does Eastern need a grad transfer QB? To my knowledge, Barriere is not leaving so this seems strange to me that they wanted a grad transfer.
Second of all, there is a deadline to enter the transfer portal if you want your free year of eligibility for the upcoming season in football and basketball which is July 1 so three days, but beginning next year it's May 1, so with an earlier deadline next year on top of the mountain of kids (especially basketball) that decided to take their free year this year, I don't think we will see near the number of portal entries next year, or at least I hope not.

Really good football player, guessing he wants to come to EWU to play and get noticed to move back up the roster of a FBS School. Fell down the chart after multiple shoulder injuries and hen ASU brought in the second best freshman in the country two years ago. I assume this means Eric is getting other offers and attention or they hope that this guys will stay around for a year after Eric. Either way a nice get for the eagles
