Argos and Griz

I have been listening. Lopsided score aside, it sounds as if the GRIZ are being much more aggressive with perimeter defense and rebounding. McGillis is everywhere doing everything. Johnson adds dynamite off the bench. Offensively Tinkle is making it a priority to either penetrate or work the ball from the inside out. We shot the ball well from 3, many of which were from great ball movement and shooting open shots. Very few forced shots.

My guess is Tinkle will not hesitate to go 10 deep somewhat consistently. This 10 deep is very talented that loses very little with any combination. They certainly are buying into what Tinkle wants them to do defensively and offensively. I have heared Tinkle alot tonight. He sounds much more intense and less tolerating of lapses and lack of execution. I think that is due to the depth he has finally. All the newbies and redshirts will contribute (Freshman may redshirt). Taylor brings talent and vesatility. McGillis brings everything to the table and great leadership. Johnson is athletic, exlposive offense with defensive intensity. Selvig rebounding, shot blocking, versatility, and ball distribution, also very capable of scoring as time goes on. Vassy is the damn energizer bunny. He is always rebounding, playing defense, leaping, creating steals, and drawing charges. This is the kind of player that every team needs, with tons of athleticism. He flat out inserts his will doing things that are about attitude, desire, and hustle.

I will say it now, "GREAT, GREAT GREAT recruiting class!" All the players fill spots and intangibles we just have not had recently. I agree with Mick this team will be great this year. We will be seeing a "TRUE" team this year with great ATTITUDE. I honestly feel all the pieces are there finally. The question is how long will it take for them to be fit together this year. I am not sure on out of conference record, but will go out on the limb and say this is 12-4 BSC team this year, give or take a game. No worse than 10-6 in conference this year. I am definitely going to the CSU and NCU games when the GRIZ come down here. If I were home, this would be the year I would finally purchase GSA seats!

Tink just commented on the depth being a strength. He is using the depth beause guys are tired from busting their ass on the court, instead of subbing due to lack of effort and execution. The GRIZ are back this year!!!!!!!!!!! Support this team!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sad comments from Tinks about Virgil Matthews and Krysko on the post-game...

Yea - What the heck do you mean????????????????????????????????????????

We will see if the Griz are back this year on November 14th. If Montana cannot win in Fort Collins, against a team picked 8th out of 9 in a very average MWC, things might not be as rosy as they seem after blasting UGF. Let's hope the Griz win at CSU....

I just took a look at the schedule ..I say the Girz go 24 and 6 this year...with loses to Duke, UW, portland State (split) , Santa Clara, uC Riverside and two other big sky loses.

I would love to hear those at the game last nights comments....and everyone season prediction.

we seem to be much better than last year..heck Jordo did not even show up in that stats at all
hardly with the new group. ;) and he was my mvp pick...sounded like the Jack McGillis show,
Stauds hitting threes, Qvale banging down low..sounded like Selving did good..and ofcourse
Johnson seems he is not afraid to put the ball up and they were falling. Taylor hustling..etc.
and I forgot about Jr.

A deep team !
