Are we there yet?

William Safire wrote a speech for Spiro Agnew in 1968 and came up with "nattering nabobs of negativism"
I dunno, it seems appropriate here

I thought "nattering nabobs" was a Dr. Smith phrase from the old "Lost in Space".

I don't think we are there until we re-open the Trail Of Tears and make a deep run in the playoffs. But, today was a very good day.

I haven't felt this good about us since we beat NDSU in Stitt's first game. Obviously I was wrong then.

This is different. No gimmicky offense.

1. This was on the road. It's been a long time since we have been able to go on the road and dominate a good team.No NEZ, no home magic, no snow.

2.This was a good old-fashioned butt kicking. We dominated them on O and D. We didn't even need outstanding ST play, something I really thought we would need to win this game.

3.We overcame our mistakes and took advantage of theirs. We didn't let the Big Sky Refs stop us. Kept our composure on the things that we could control.

4. This team has Senior leadership in all-FCS players like Sneed and Olson and JLM. Young'uns in O'Connell, McGourin, Mamula and Ostmo. And a ton of talent in-between. We really have no weaknesses, and depth at every position, except maybe CB. But our CBs have shown themselves to be good tackler's, even if they're not at Trumaine's level on pass defense ( who is?).

Give this team home field throughout the playoffs and I can easily see us playing in the chipper. I'm a huge Griz optimist, I know. There's a lot of season left. but this is a fan board and I'm a big Fan. :D

Bobby said post game "We aren't quite there yet."

Well that settles it then. I bet we’re moving in the right direction though.

Remember the chipper trips. My guess is he is pretty reluctant to say his time is there until his team is actually there.

You guys are right on, however IMHO I am ready to buy tickets to Frisco. Bobby is right and anything could happen between now and the playoffs. But I will take my chances, I just want tickets.

Listen to the SWX coach show from a few days ago. Bobby had that twinkle in his eye. Said something about RTD sooner than he anticipated. Forget the exact wording but it was certainly encouraging for HIM to say that.
