Appy St. #54

Jabari,
I have been lurking on this board for years and have never posted until now. As a lifelong Griz fan, 40+ years all I can say Is 'WOW". You are a stand up guy! It took a lot of sand to come and EGRIZ and apologize like that. You will go far in life with that kind of an attitude young man. After the game this year, I have nothing but good things to say about APP State and their fans. I hope we meet you in the playoffs again and I am going to do my best to go to the game in Boone in 2011. Good luck and God Bless you in all your future endevors.

APP State is now my second favorite team!

I am Very impressed by this man! WOW! Before during and now after this game I am impressed with App state! Takes a man to come on here and do what you have done! Totally impressed Sir! :thumb:

Lessons in Life, Rule # 1: Everyone screws up sometime, what counts is what happens next.

One is reaching manhood when they can acknowledge a mistake.
Then accept responsibility for their own actions.
Finally, learn from it and try not to repeat it.

Jabari, you've earned my respect for coming here and offering your apology. It sounds like you will do well in life, on and off the football field.

Dear Montana Fans,

Please do not let this be a surprise that I, Jabari Fletcher am writing on your message board.

Please allot and grant me the opportunity to apologize to you all who may have seen me in my worst behavior. I sincerely apologize for my behavior and actions to the parents of the players, the kids, the fans and to my family and school for acting the way I did. If you do not believe this is me please email me at [email protected].

My emotions are not worn on my sleeves but rather it felt like my efforts had gone to waste. My character hasn't changed. My morals and values are still growing through taking in the good and bad that comes with life. Charlie Cobb (Athletic Director) actually tackled me out of love and anger. I deeply regret what I did because of the people who look at me as a role model. Yes it is true, my teammates and coaches call me the mayor because as they say "I go around shaking hands and kissing babies." Yes I am a good person and student and that not felt like I let down the seniors, family and friends back at home. It will be hard for me to ask for forgiveness for myself but instead I do ask for for forgiveness for my team and the name that I wear on the front of my jersey that says Appalachian State University.

Happy new Year to all and may your year bring joy and happiness.

Like others have said, there is no need to apologize, it was a huge game and emotions sometimes take over rational thought. I am not saying I encourage you to keep flying the bird but I like when things like that happen ON OCCASION because its real and shows your passion and desire.

I hate seeing guys run around on the field after a big game they just lost, laughing and throwing high fives like its no big deal, watch the NFL after any game and you will see what I mean.

Good luck to you JF your a hell of a player and ASU is a class team, best wishes to you and your team this coming new year.

and that is just another reason I am proud to be a Mountaineer.

You should be proud. These are good kids and a great program. While in Chattanooga I got to visit with Mr. Edwards; what a fine young man. I was in the NEZ and was witness to Jabari's actions and as I posted earlier in this thread, I thought there was high emotions and some provocation.

No need for appologies Jabari, but a class move nonetheless

 Takes someone with a pretty big soul to care what opposing fans, some two thousand miles away are saying. An even bigger reason to keep me rooting on for App State. May god bless you Jabari, I think your family and App Nation has someone to be proud of. Wow, never in my life have I seen something like this. My eyes just opened a little wider in life. Thanks Jabari. I wish you nothing short of the best.

Jabari,

I as well sit in the NEZ and witnessed the act at the end of a hard fought game. I also observed you closely during the game as we sit ten rows from the field and could sense your energy and frustration.

I know your Father would be proud of the man you have become and I commend your Mother for her efforts along with those positive influences you have had growing up. As many have stated in earlier posts I thank you for caring enough about life, actions and attitude to apologize wishing you the best in all your future endeavors. Hope to see you play next season.

I am glad we finally got to see Appalachian State play here in Missoula. Of all the Appalachian fans who made the trip I had the chance to meet here were very friendly. We as fans here have wanted to see the Griz play other top I-AA programs here on a regular basis, but have not had the clance as of yet. We look forward to the home and home game with the Mountaineers in the coming future. Clearly this year was one of the top best games I have ever seen thru the lense in almost 30 years filming Grizzly football for the team. Scarey at times, with the scrambling great play of Armanti Edwards, but a hard fought battle on both sides of the ball right to the end of the game. What else would anyone want to see? Two teams playing their hearts out. We can see it is easy to get frustrated, caught up in the emotions of the game and say or do things we regret later. What a show of your true charater to respond to these posts on e-griz and apologize for your behavior after the game. That takes a big man! Good luck in the future as you follow your lifes journey. Hope to see you all in the playoffs again next year of course back here in Misssoula!
