Appreciate the seasons as they come

With all the new changing of landscapes and rules in college football including transfer portal… kids not having to sit out a year in many cases…NIL money now so more than ever the teams a program puts on the field year to year will be drastically different.

It used to be that just with graduating seniors and kids leaving your teams would see around 25-30% roster turnover. With the new rules and situations named above we as fans should get used to seeing 35-45% roster turnover year in and out. It’s just the way the game is going.

Because of that we as fans can hopefully get used to these ever changing landscapes and appreciate each good season and each good run as much as possible. You never know if the next season will be a drastic improvement or drastic decline. Just as with every change to the game. Some programs and coaching staffs will catch on faster than others. Let’s hope we’re in that boat.

It also places even more importance on the facilities arms race. An area in which Montana is beating most at the FCS level in.

Here’s to appreciating every season. This one didn’t end how we wanted but this team overcame a ton of injuries and unfortunate events. It was a good run. Here’s to many more.

Absolutely agree. Enjoy (or accept) what you got, because the past affects but does not determine the future. Two 10-win (bone fide) seasons in a role, with playoff appearances? Great, but don't count on it, even as we hope so.

As with virtually every significant change, there will be unforeseen (and perhaps unintended) consequences. We still do not know how the many "recent" changes will play out.
