Believe the numbered mentioned a few times is 73.

Well, if "upwards of 74" means 73, then, I agree.

That's the number I've heard talked about. Whether that's the rule for transitional teams or whether this was App's choice, I don't know. I have also heard that App has not added players due to this, BUT some walk-ons are now schollies.

Next year, we get 85, the max. for FBS teams.

More important to Griz fans though, is that I understand App brought somewhat less than 73 to Missoula. How many less? I don't know.
