Montana sucks so bad in track and field. Shouldn't there be an outcry for the Coaches jobs when we regularly finish in the bottom half of the league year in and year out? There's no excuse when NAU and Weber can field good teams. Let's face facts you can't win with a majority of Montana kids in track. I look at HS guys winning the 100 meter at 11.3 at a AA Track Meet and that is hilarious. You need to go to California, Washington, and Oregon to get sprinters.

All you need to do is look at the resources given UM Track compared to the schools you mention. Did you not see the miniscule recruiting budget? I am surprised they do as well as they do when you have such limited money for recruting and scholarships. We already know the Griz get less than that other school for FB and BB, the whole thing is embarassing. Ronbo, have you given any $$$ ?

Complete BS. There are ZERO sprinters in NorCal. And WA/OR is full of DISTANCE runners, not sprinters. Perhaps there are sprinters in the LA/SD area. But don't just go global and say there are sprinters in CA. Not true.

If you are a top track and field athlete why wouldn't you want to go where you can compete year around at the best facilities in the country? If you can run, jump, or throw, there are some big time programs that will pay your way. UM has such limited funds it is amazing they do as well as they do. Kudos to Raunig and Schweyen for the jobs they do under BS conditions.

One reason:

I would bet well over 65% of the emebers of this board did not even know Montana had a track team.

Heck I would say 30% of this board is not aware that Montana has a basketball team. :thumb:
