Another reason why we don't cheer for the cats

As wbtfg put it, SAD. Biggest game in Bobcat Stadium history and SOME MSU fans are STILL talking about the Griz, thinking about the Griz, making signs about the Griz, chanting proudly about the Griz and all in all being obsessed with the Griz.
 
I would think one of announcers for the game would pick up on the Griz signs, and point it out to the civilized world. The cat fans, in all their adolescent glory! Awesome.
 
Cats2506 and Bear Spray and Papa G and a few others would hate my friends that are die-hard Cat fans. They don't spend their lives going around hating on all that is Griz. Don't get me wrong, there is no love lost for the Griz, but we actually have conversations on the golf course, in the bar or at sporting events that don't involve trash talk, rape, murders, Champ vs Monte, Bobby Hauck or Ricky Gatewood. We actually talk about football and it's actually quite civil. Is there teasing and jokes? Hell yes, but most of my Cat friends are not obsessed like a select few of these dudes on the internet are. I guess in 2506's eyes, these guys are not true fans...

I'm sure there are bobcats still in prison or at least probation for wrongdoings also but I'm sure you saintly fucks don't want to talk about that, now do you?

Wow. Really did not want to enter the fray, but I couldn't let this one go by. I recognize that your Bobcats are coming up in the world; got some consecutive winning seasons going, seem to have a classy - and good - coach and things are going well over there. But, slow down a little, son; it's over?? Really?? Did the Griz not make it to a semi-final game just last year??? And there were lots of Griz fans excited to host you all for the semis last year (therefore CHEERING FOR THE CATS vs the kats) and you let us down.

We've had a rough year, but if you really think the best years are behind the Griz, you are sadly delusional. Good luck with that. :thumb:

That being said . . . I don't get why any of you are over here at all?? Why aren't you tinting your beer blue and trolling on the Bearkat site, trash talking?? You all should be excited out of your minds and on pins and needles waiting for tomorrow night! You should be high fiven' each other; jacking yourselves up, right?? WHY ARE YOU ON EGRIZ?? This game is gonna be awesome for Cat fans . . . why wouldn't you be smackin' with the Sam Houston fans?? A quick check of Bobcat Nation shows 11 members and 49 guests over there. . . Just before I started writing this, 25 eGriz members were on here along with 235 guests!! Almost 200 more people peering in on us?? Poor little Griz fans whose season is over??? Go get some tempura paint and get your BOBCAT signs ready.

Even then, do you think it would make the WSJ, the NYT, and various papers across Montana and the Northwest region? Your program has to have a special kind of problem to get to that level. Just sayin.

Ah, yes, the numbers argument. That one cracks me up the most. If we are talking about the strength of the respective fan bases' websites, then yes clearly Egriz wins. But I wasn't talking about that, was I? I was talking about the arrogance of some Griz fans who seem incapable of respecting what the Cats have done in the past three years. That's what continues to drive the vitriol and hate against the Griz. Like it or not, ridicule it or not, laugh at it or not; the Cats care what the Griz think. They want the respect of the State's traditionally great program. I appreciate the cheers last year in the Semis. Good for you. But we know why you were doing it - two reasons and two reasons alone: to host another playoff game. Oddly enough, if the Griz were playing at EWU this weekend, I would be cheering for them too. But not because I love the Griz. Don't pretend like that wasn't the case. The other reason? You would have stomped the Cats twice in one season. It would have been laughable. So I don't see your kindness in cheering for the Cats shining through ever, let alone last season.

Two stumbling seasons in the past three years is not an accident. And if on the field issues were the only thing going on right now in Missoula, that would probably be the end of it. But that isn't the only thing going on right now is it, Ms. Maroon. Listen, 'mam, I don't pretend to claim what the Griz have built is "over." They have the best FCS stadium in the country, in my opinion, and a dedicated fan base. But they have their share of fans who will fade from the bandwagon. They have their share of fans who can't come to grips with reality. See Hammer, PlayerRep, etc for examples. Are you one of them?

Jerry P, so why waste your time and ours with your posts? Lately about all I have seen in reference to my posts starts with a personal attack which really makes you look bad and to be honest has no effect on me.
I have my reasons for not cheering for the cats based on experience and in a larger part based on the few truly obnoxious bobcat posters that come on eGriz.
I have some good friends that are die hard bobcats and we have a good time joking with each other about the rivalry.
FYI I have three daughters the oldest a grad of MSEuless, the middle The U of MT and the youngest is looking at attending MSEuless in the next few years. The oldest and youngest look to MSEuless because it is close to where they live.

Because of things like "MSEuless" and many, many other posts where you are actually physically incapable of respecting the Cats. Why MSEuless? The biggest and most frequently debunked myth on this site is that the Cats team is 100% Texan, when in reality they have more Montana boys than UM.

I'm glad it doesn't have any effect on you. If you had such thin skin on internet message boards I would be concerned. And likewise it has no effect on me that you think it makes me look really bad. I don't care.

I'll let you get back to the dick pumping.

Of course it is true. Without the likes of DeNarius McGhee, we would be a middle tier team. No doubt about it. Kind of like UM. What sort of fun things can we add to UM's name that reflect its character? Do you want to start down that path?
 
Jerry lad, I've been on eGriz for quite some time now and I am sure I have read about every negative that can be said about the Griz. Both programs have had their ups and downs on and off the field. I do not think the cats are Ash's angels and there will be off field issues come up in the next few months. If I were a cat fan I would fear the cats being a one hit wonder like they were with Lulay. Once the DM graduates then what? Dakota who? How much playing time does he have? I am not sure Ash's program is nothing more the beneficiary of a good recruit at qb.
However the cats have developed other talen particularly of defense, Owens, Schreibeis and Minter. Who did I miss because I am sure I have.
One thing that really spins me about the cats is the booster add featuring DM standing on the goals post adoring the president and the "crazy catch" his receiver made. What about the 9 other players on the field? If indeed it is "In Denarius We Trust" the clock is ticking. He will graduate next year so enjoy it while you can.
Will I cheer for the MSEuless cats? Not this all weather Griz fan.

By the way, there isn't one program in the country who would trade UM's legal situation for their own, except for Penn State. So go ahead and tell us that "both programs have had their fair share of problems" as much as you want. What has happened at UM is unprecedented in the State and in Bozeman.

If you don't want to believe it, I don't blame you. Denial is a strong human reaction.
