To me that is what a rivalry is. It's more symbolic than personal. It's tribal, not relational.

Not during regular season (ever), not if we are both in the play-offs. But now. Just now.

hating Idaho State - because their athletic program is too freakin' pathetic to generate much more than contempt, if it's noticed at all. (In Boise there's disdain for both ISU and UI) With MSU it seems like the hate meter has risen proportionately to their ability to actually become a challenger to UM supremacy in the state...the country cousins have actually earned the right to be "hated."... GeeGee, I want to see the Griz succeed, and root for them during the season. I wish the Griz were out of this mess, and in the playoffs. How cool would it be to have a CAT/griz national championship game?

There are some posters on this site from the CAT side of the world who I would personally love to beeauch-slap. Those are the guys to spill your disdain upon - the provacative, hater, posters, be they griz, or be they CATS. Hating a bar owner for selling booze? My experience at a Griz cat game in Bozo many years back is the reason I will never root for MSEuless. Before that I used to cheer for them except against the Griz. Image means a lot and the image I got of bobcat athletics that day was not good.

Grow a pair. You don't have to cheer for the Cats but don't let the fact that a girl beat you up be the reason to hate the Cats. Who knew my wife could throw a right hook like that?
