Another good test for the Griz in Ca.

Well, the Griz lost a game they could easily have won. I had a strong feeling history would repeat itself in SF....UM is very young and it shows. I thought Cherry would have a great game in front of his pals but alas....missed free throws, over reliance upon 3 pt. shots and inconsistent play...Stockton seems more of a liability right now, but sooner or later he will pick it up, I hope...The Griz had a shot at an at large bid at the end of the season, but this loss throws that out the window...the way I see it, now they must win the conference to get to the NCAA tourn. Had they won today and UCLA, Utah, and Portland won the bulk of their games, UM would have had an argument.....now....well, it is a conference race....maybe they can pull it out...the talent is here, why not?

no offense but i dont see how you could think they are even within sniffing range of being thought of for an at large bid. honestly we would probably have to win out(maybe one more L) with conference wins all coming by way of blowouts and lose in the chipper on a buzzer beater to get that. and have utah, nevada, portland, and ucla to win or top two or three theryre respective conferences. we are good and talented and will be there come conference, our defense is ELITE and will keep us in every game, but an at-large team we are not, because our offense, FT and perimiter shooting will continue to hold us back until someone/anyone steps up.

That being said, make no bones about it, i love this team and they are farther along than i expected them to be quite honestly. Great attitude, play hard and play the right way. play for eachother and have good chemistry and commraderie. Now lets all get EVERY GODDAMN PERSON we know to dahlberg arena wednesday night at 7 and give this team the support they need and DESERVE.

At large invites go to good team whose wins are over other good teams..the more those teams win the higher the odds...With a few ordinarily top conferences not looking good, this would have been a good year for the Big Sky to break through...Sadly, it won't happen. I agree, the chances were slim but no UCLA team will play as poorly against anyone like they did last week or the alumni will demand changes...and the rest, they might just win a hell of a lot...I know San Francisco is better than the anyone on this board thought. Them's the breaks, back to earth...I hope they can beat OSU....
