Mitch was way less of a homer than most local announcers….you could tell he respected the hell out of the Griz…

Absolutely. The color guy WAS a homer for sure, but even he wasn't that bad.

Mitch Strohman is the best pbp guy in the BSC. His basketball calls are even better than his football work, which one could argue is even harder due to the nearly constant play.

Absolutely. Anyone who has listened to NAU games (basketball or football) over the years recognizes Strohman calls a quality game. Next to Mick and Riley, he’s my favorite BSC PBP guy.

I find Basketball easier. Sure it us constantly going, but you don't have as many dead times.
 
This is a tough crowd. You would think any announcer that:
1) plugs eGriz
2) hypes gameday in Missoula
3) makes a shit pond reference

Would be a Griz fan fav.
 
Those guys were great. They knew the Griz, they talked about the kitten rivalry and GameDay (and eGriz lol), and unlike most of the crews I've heard this year they did the research so we didn't have to endure hearing about "Shulsher" and "Humphreys" making plays all day.

I can excuse the color guy getting heated and screaming into the mic when that penalty call didn't go the right way. The game was already decided at that point so it was just entertaining and added to the immersion, like having a drunk NAU fan right in my living room.
