No we are not talking Eric. Just heard the NFL suspended Jared for 4 games for repeated substance abuse violations. Anyone else hear this, and is for alcohol or what?

Should trade him to another team like Cincinnati...wait a minute, Cincinnati Bengals, Idaho State Bengals...Coincidence? I don't think so... :tounge:

Then why not say Jared Allen Suspended and keep it out of the Griz football section? Poor choice of a thread title. :naughty:

I remember when he ran the length of the Griz bench holding a fumble taunting the team. No class.

Report: Chiefs' Allen Suspended

Kansas City, MO -- (Sports Network) - Kansas City Chiefs defensive end Jared Allen will reportedly be suspended for the first four games of the 2007 season for violating the NFL's substance-abuse policy.

According to the Kansas City Star, Allen was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol twice last year, and was informed of the suspension on Friday.

The 25-year-old restricted free agent has yet to sign a one-year contract offer proposed by the Chiefs.
The Idaho State product posted 77 tackles and 7 1/2 sacks last season.

That really was an unfortunate topic title. I met up with Eric a couple of weeks ago when he retrieved my momentarily lost keys. Seemed like a neat guy. Jared on the otherhand.....is well.....a...

He still should have been Big Sky defensive player of the year when he was a senior and had like 19 sacks instead of Kane Ioane, the most overrated safety the conference has ever had.

I don't think drinking will change the fact that he is correct...

He won that award on reputation alone and anyone that argues otherwise is just a very biased Cat fan. Ioane started 4 years because he came aboard as a true freshman on an 0-11 team. He was never a cover guy. He ran about in the 4.7's. He occasionally got some big hits, but was never even a tremendous tackler. He couldn't tackle Justin Green to save his life. JG trucked him at least 3 times in his senior year, and he got straight up stiff-armed by Craig Ochs. He's kind of a poor man's John Lynch. I would take Colt Anderson over Ioane.

It's not a Cat-Griz thing. If a Bobcat player deservedly won an award like that I would congratulate them. I just think that Jared Allen got straight up robbed that year. He completely dominated, got like 19 sacks, drafted in the 4th or 5th round or something.

Ioane being academic all-american or all-conference and Allen not had something to do with it I think. I remember ISU's coach publically complaining about how JA got robbed, and coaches usually don't get involved in individual award stuff like that.

If my post was so far off from the truth than you would think that a guy could come up with a legit rebuttle instead of a lousy emoticon. I never said KI was a chump. He was good. But not DPOY worthy.
