I got to town around 7:30 tonight. Did some sight seeing. The drive from Pueblo, CO to Santa Fe, is absolutely boring, until one gets about 30 miles north of Santa Fe, then it is real scenic. Albuquerque is pretty cool too. The 1st place I drove by was "The Pit". We drove around it, even from the outside looking in was one of the coolest sights I have ever seen. I cannot wait for game time.
I have a feeling I will be suggesting any true sports fan, or college basketball fan to add attending a game at "The Pit" on their bucket list. Food and drink is pretty affordable here, and locals are very nice.
I ate dinner at "Coaches". Pretty nice place, with good atmosphere, but they are not very generous with what you get for your money. Which is so opposite of what I have heard about Albuquerque restaurants.
The food was good though, the waitresses were cute, so that was a plus.
I doubt we will be at "Coaches" again. We did run into a few Weber State fans sporting their gear, and of course New Mexico fans, all of them wish the GRIZ luck, and told me they want to see the GRIZ upset Wisconsin. Speaking of Wisconsin, the highlight of my drive was being flipped off by a Badger fan, when he seen me wearing GRIZ gear. Passed a few Montana, Wisconsin, and Colorado vehicles, seen quite a bit of Baylor gear represented tonight. Did not see one GRIZ fan, other than my brother, but the waitresses at Coaches commented about a dozen GRIZ fans were there earlier, and last night too. They had good things to say about our fans, and the bartender joked, do we need get a few kegs tapped for you 2 tonight? I commented back, "Are you implying GRIZ fans like to drink?" She told me that was understatement. I guess I got here one night too late. :thumb:
